If Americans are sailing in international waters then damn right all means at our disposal should be employed to protect them. To do otherwise is craven - its what other nations do.
Apparently there is some stink that commercial carriers even for reasons of self-defense are not allowed to carry fire power, whatever it takes to blow these killers out of the water, and then go into a foreign port with their cannons.
