These unions are finally starting to get pushed back, we should expect them to get violent.

The CWA gave me one of my best examples of why to hate unions. Back in my hometown at a Telecom I worked at there was a CWA member who we wanted to fire because... he didn’t show up to work. Turns out actually showing up to the job is optional. After a long period of time working through grievenances and etc. he was finally fired.... and then he sued for discrimination. CWA protected this POS all the way.

I worked with a guy when I was with the C & P Telephone Company many years ago who was, at that time, the only employee to have a union grievance filed against him by the company.

The grievance was for “malicious obedience”. He would listen very carefully to exactly what his supervisor told him to do, and he would obey it to the letter. His supervisor was not very precise with instructions, so that quickly led to the malicious part.

I was a punk kid at the time, so I thought it was hilarious. Today, not so much.
