To: A_Former_Democrat
Look, here, let's not miss this, this is a generational war.

There is a lot of truth here that we should not miss.
This has always been the case that the young idealistic and naive people are protesting for what they believe.

On the other side are the old wizened realist that are not so easily fooled.

The irony is that most of us old timers have already run our race and are retired. Our lives are already set and the financial and security disasters that are on the horizon will not affect us very much.
The young idealists who are just entering the prime of their lives are the ones who will bear the full brunt of the disasters they are fighting for.

I agree with him that “it’s a generational war” But the war should be over debt and tax burdens being passed down to these college students. Quite honestly we do a poor job of communicating this to them. What good is the education and the loans if they’re going to be burdened to the max with taxes and an economy that’s not going to be worth a damn if we don’t get the fiscal house in order? Students have always been politically naive (thus, some of us being “Former Democrats”) but the generations coming thru are going to get screwed big time if things don’t change and change quickly.
