Gov. Jerry Brown has gained plenty of mileage so far out of simple acts. His latest: appearing Thursday before a legislative committee for an hour to sell his budget plan.
The Democratic governor urged lawmakers to leave their comfort zones and directed his sternest remarks at Republicans.

His meaningless acts are useless he’s a loser the west coast Obama is cluless he only knows to increase taxes.

Brown is claiming the Republicans are “anti-democratic” for not allowing a measure calling for an extension of tax increases to be voted on.
Well, if we want to be democratic, why not allow the people to vote on a tax *decrease*?
Why is the choice to extend (or not) the current increases only?
It’s a little high but who knows you may take it.
This is all theatre and posturing.
The deals have been made.
There are R’s who are going to sell CA taxpayers out.
Mark my words.
I sincerely hope, if this ends up on the ballot in June, that the voters reject it. They did so the last time these extensions came up, in 2009, by a 2-to-1 margin.
Fundamental pension reform has to happen before any more tax increases. The people of this state have been taxed enough!
I saw some video of his encounter with legislators. He is a rude, mean little man, won’t let a Republican lady representative speak. He continually interrupted and insulted her.
Why should Republicans be shamed for refusing to extend tax increases when Brown refuses to cut back spending FIRST?
He swings a mean purse.
We can hope, but I’m not optimistic at all.
But from what I’m hearing, schools have already started the layoffs in Kern Co. They’re looking at closing a couple of schools and consolidating them.
One high school here may even become a Tier II school because it can’t pay the $75k “accreditation fee”, meaning that none of their graduates will be eligible for military service.
They’re going to “call the bluff” by going after the soft underbelly. The things that matter to the average voter.
Once word gets out that schools are closing, consolidating students into larger class sizes, etc., the voters “will come around” to JB’s way of thinking.
I agree, we’ve had enough, but we CA taxpayers aren’t the only ones with a vote.
