Former FBI agent missing in Iran still alive: Clinton

WASHINGTON, March 3 (Xinhua) -- U.S. has received indications recently that a former FBI agent who disappeared when visiting Iran four years ago is still alive, said U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton on Thursday.

Clinton said in a statement that the U.S. citizen, named Bob Levinson, is now being held "somewhere in southeast Asia."

"We respectfully request the Iranian government to undertake humanitarian efforts to safely return and reunite Bob with his family," she said, adding that the U.S. would appreciate the Iranian government's efforts in this regard.

Bob Levinson, an American private detective and former FBI agent, disappeared in March 2007 when he was visiting Iran.

Washington has repeatedly asked Tehran to make efforts to determine the whereabouts of Robert Levinson and ensure his rapid and secure return to the United States. But the Iranian authorities had denied knowledge of the case.

SouthEAST Asia? IRAN is in Southwest Asia. What does that mean? Did they send him to their friends in Burma or ( more likely ) is Hillary geographically illiterate?

Respectfully?! No wonder we are treated like door mats around the world. Our state dept projects a wimpy image.

Doesn’t matter, unfortunately, with this government, he is dead anyway... A very sad case.

Unless he can hold out for 2012...unlikely..

We STRONGLY suggest you return him now, or we will grant our good General Rockhaardnut’s wish to finally test out his new “super weapon” as he calls it.

Maybe the discrepancy is caused by Hillary's forked tongue.

Cheap to criticize.
What would you do if you were SoS? Or CiC?

God is in control.
