I'm still using a black Wilson leather bag I picked up at one of Frencie's (thrift) in Nova Scotia 6 years ago for $4.00...
I only use my $1 grocery totes when I'm shopping for groceries.

While I don’t think our ...gads...I hate to call her this....FLOTUS should run around in rags I just can’t shake the feeling that these two are like any other African dictators who plunder their country but don’t care because they are living the high life. $1000.00 is a lot of money, but I have several distinctly middle class friends who have bags that cost that much or more. Ridiculous? Perhaps. But many women love handbags.

A $1000 handbag is not expensive. If it is quality and it lasts for many years, it is a better deal than cheap bags that wear out from poor quality construction. It is much less wasteful to buy quality.
