I for one just don’t care. Exactly what is it we are trying to accomplish here?
I don’t want to hear the mantra that we are trying to bring Democracy to the Middle East. They don’t know what it and would not know what to do if they had it.
Waste of money and resources let the old Dictator stay in power, all they will do is trade one for another.
The Middle East has been the biggest source of conflict and warfare in the world since WW2 and the biggest source of the oil we need to prosper on.
Every ME dictator that is eliminated allows the possibility of a new pluralistic government that will squabble itself into inaction militarily. All the while, the oil keeps pumping.
Petro dollars and greed get spread out to the many instead of the few and that wealth will be protected by the great and powerful Status Quo. Iraq was the example for Iran was the example for Tunisia was the example for Egypt was the example for Yemen was the example for Bahrain......
See the trend? Inclusion of the populace in government, that is the tactic, stability of oil supplies to Europe and N America and the Far East is the goal.
Wean ourselves off of foreign oil and I will join you in not caring about the Middle East.
