NPR targets Michelle Malkin's family on 'comedy show'
American Thinker ^ | 3/21/11 | Rick Moran

Posted on 03/21/2011 12:57:32 PM PDT by Nachum

Recently defunded NPR apparently thinks it's funny to falsely accuse Michelle Malkin of being a birther while making lame jokes about her family. This, at a time, when Malkin's kin is frantic with worry over the disappearance of her niece.

Malkin has a transcript of the inane little radio skit so I won't duplicate it here. Her comments:

The premise of Jobrani's p.c. comedy gag is completely false, as actual readers of my work know. I was one of the first conservatives to criticize Birthers who go to the extreme and have never accused President Obama of being a "secret Muslim." To the contrary, I've criticized him for his rather open and out-of-the-closet apologias for jihad and his perfunctory, bloodless, vague public condemnations of Islamic terror attacks on Americans. As for my "fear that there are Muslims amongst us who are hiding their true identity," go ask Attorney General Eric Holder what "keeps him up at night."

Jobrani's a poor man's Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert, pandering to progressives with lazy caricatures of the Right, with the encouragement and approval of high-minded libs practicing supposedly indispensable, public interest journalism that rural America can't live without, don't you know!?

How many conservative comedians (besides token P.J. O'Rourke, who panders to the Left with his attacks on Rush Limbaugh and conservative talk radio) get an equal opportunity to lampoon their political opponents on NPR airwaves?

Wait, wait...don't tell me.

The "comediens" didn't even bother to discover Malkin's position on the issues they were criticizing her for. That's par for the course. Liberals can't separate people into individuals; they have to lump them into a group in order to discuss them among themselves. They constantly go after Black conservatives for not toeing the company line on race and other issues. It simply can't penetrate their thick skulls that human beings might have an individual outlook on life hence. anyone who deviates from what they consider the norm is ripe for the worst kind of smears and falsehoods being thrown at them.

Believing that ALL conservatives think Obama is a Muslim, or wasn't born here bespeaks a shallowness, a laziness of thought that is revealed by this unconscionable attack on Malkin's family in their time of trial. It reveals more about those so casually tossing the smears than anything that Malkin has said about the left in the past.

I happened to listen to this show this weekend. It was a liberal inside-joke fest throughout.

And not funny.

What else is knew with those NPR bastards. Targeting a woman whose cousin is missing is absolutely disgusting..NPR knows they are finished, just a matter of time. My Prayers continue to go out to the Malkin family. I pray her cousin comes home safely

NPR “game shows” are the stupidest things in the world. They aren’t funny, and the questions are lame.

RE: P.J. O'Rourke - He used to funny in his ideas and funny in his descriptions. Since his illness, he's become rather bland and, occasionally, a blowhard. Too bad.

However, I'll never forget his description of Bianca Jagger the morning after Daniel Ortega lost the Nicaraguan presidential election as "one bummed-out showbiz lefty". Right on the money.

And here's the punchline: they make her pay them to do it! Ha ha, isn't that a scream? What? You don't think so?

NPR really is run by some of the smartest people in the country: they get taxpayers to keep paying for this!

You’ve gotten the government you voted for America: so enjoy your high taxes and high gas and food prices. :)

The salient issue with NPR is that they cater to a minority - narcissistic liberals who desperately want to believe they're sophisticated intellectuals. Most Americans barely know NPR exists or, if they do, never listen to an NPR station. So, NPR can get away with heavily biased (left) 'news' shows as well as mocking and insulting conservative public figures while receiving taxpayer money, much of it from folks who don't share NPR's left-wing mindset. That is, of course, as unfair to taxpayers (us) as it is arguably insane. I like to listen to Rush Limbaugh and occasionally watch Fox News but I certainly don't want my tax dollars to help pay for either one...and they don't. NPR can and should survive on private funding. Let George Soros pay for it. We can't stop the leftist insults but we have absolutely no obligation to help pay for NPR to air them. When is enough, enough? I say: now. De-fund NPR!

O’Rourke started out on the left and saw the error of his ways chiefly due to the anti-Americanism of many of his left-wing compatriots. But he still has plenty of friends on the left and is probably more a libertarian than a conservative. Nobody’s perfect, certainly not Rush. But it seems O’Rourke went out of his way to slam Limbaugh.

I've been a fan of PJ's since the National Lampoon of the 70's, so if he was a lefty it was before then. Maybe you're thinking of Dennis Miller?

In one of his books O'Roarke talks about his flaming liberal days in college. His grandmother asked him if he was a Democrat, and he responed, no, I'm a Maoist!

Just as long as you're not becoming a Democrat, his grandmother responded

(paraphrasing from memory, but I could have seen my grandmother doing that, may she rest in peace).

A recent poll shows that only 9% of Americans believe Obama was born in America.

NPR’s comedy shows are amazingly juvenile and unfunny.

I discovered this when on a self-imposed regime of listening to the station to be sure I was right about how useless it is.
