I had no idea Cocaine was in such heavy use these days. Paris, this dope, Charlie Sheen. It really is the 1970's all over again. We got inflation, gasoline issues, Carter is President and a "snow" storm. If my time line is correct, hopefully Reagan is right around the next corner.

I had no idea Cocaine was in such heavy use these days. Paris, this dope, Charlie Sheen. It really is the 1970's all over again. I know what you mean. I used to think coke was new as a "hip" drug ... but it's been old hat for ages! Coke's been the "drug du jour" for "hipsters" for a long time. One of my favorite books, "Murder Must Advertise" by one of the best murder mystery writers ever, Dorothy Sayers, was published in 1933 and was about cocaine use in England's upper class "bright young things" of the aristocracy, the equivalent of the Paris Hiltons of the day. It surprised me to see how little the essentials have changed over the generations.
As it says in Ecclesiastes, there's nothing new under the sun!
