Berlin Perhaps the most overlooked fact in the obituaries written about Elizabeth Taylor was that her unwavering support for the Jewish state was matched with genuine pro-Israel action. The New York Times devoted only a footnote to Liz Taylors rock-solid commitment to Israels security, noting that she divided her time between her charitable works, including various Israeli causes.
...After the terrorist members from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Germanys left-wing Baader-Meinhof Gang took an Air France plane at Entebbe airport in Uganda hostage in 1976, she offered to exchange herself for the remaining 100-plus Jewish and Israeli passengers.
...Taylor was also one of 60 signatories to a telegram addressed to U.N. Secretary General Kurt Waldheim (ex-Nazi) from prominent women, slamming the U.N. Anti-Zionist Resolution in 1975. She did this at time when it was highly unfashionable to come out against the anti-Israel U.N. resolution.

Boy, does the NYT hate Jeeeews!
--March 18, 1959
WASHINGTON (JTA) --The State Department today received word that authorities of the United Arab Republic have officially banned all motion pictures featuring Hollywood cinema star Elizabeth Taylor. The U.A. R. took this action today because Miss Taylor recently purchased $100,000 worth of Israel Bonds, the report said.

--Elizabeth Taylor has been barred from entering Egypt and, as a result, the multimillion dollar film, "Cleopatra," practically completed in Rome except for Egyptian location shots, may have to be finished in some other country,...
My view of Elizabeth Taylor has completely changed (for the better). Forget her youthful role as a homewrecker.
Someone who is a friend of Israel when it has never been fashionable to be one, and who backs up her commitment with public and financial support, is O.K. in my books.
I’m glad to be reminded of her friendship for Israel.
Before her funeral, it was said that both Fred Phelps disgusting church would be showing up to protest, as well as hundreds or even thousands from the homosexual community, to honor her for her work against AIDS.
Though her funeral itself was just for family and friends, I haven’t heard of any actual protest or trouble.
In a way, it’s a missed opportunity for the homosexuals, who could have gained much popular support by vigorously smiting Phelps evil band, who no one has stood against, be they military or bikers. Until those monsters are made to pay for their affronts, they will continue to traumatize and torment truly innocent victims, not letting them mourn in peace.
