Gavin Newsom reportedly eyeing run for governor

Less than three months on the job, and already Gavin Newsom is prepping to run for governor again.

A city insider who asked not to be named tells us the new lieutenant governor approached him at a charity fundraiser the other day with a request for help to start raising money for a renewed gubernatorial bid.

Newsom's inability to compete with the much-better-financed Jerry Brown was one of the reasons he withdrew from last year's Democratic race and ran instead for lieutenant governor.

Newsom has opened a re-election campaign committee for 2014 - but there's nothing to stop him from transferring any money he might raise to an exploratory gubernatorial run.

No one from Camp Newsom wanted to comment for the record, but we're told the lieutenant governor will support Brown for as long as he intends to be governor.

Being Lt. Governor doesn't give him access to enough wives of subordinates.

Gotta climb one step at a time. With the help of his Aunt, Nancy Pelosi and good friend Diane Feinstein, he should be able to garner considerable support and financing for his campaign.

IMO, by the time the next election rolls around, the state of CA will be bankrupt and flushed down the Liberal sewer thanks to the human waste in the CA Assembly and governor’s office right now.

Good for him, I hope he wins. He and that state deserve each other.

Gavin is a consummate opportunist. Example: Although he was WAY off to the left of his rival in the Lt. Gov. race, (un-)Abel Maldonado, Gavin (correctly) attacked Maldonado for having voted to support the largest tax hike in California’s history.(*) Although Gavin is correct, it’s a hysterically hypocritcal attack because Gavin would have supported even higher taxes, and sooner/ less reluctantly than sellout Maldonado.

(*— The very same massive tax hike, which was supposed to last less than 2 years and is due to expire late this spring, is the one that Moonbeam now want extended by FIVE YEEARS. Where does Gavin stand on that?)

Most of the State is Not in line with his idiot agenda. It’s the SF, LA, and San Diego machines that keep Ca. in the mess it’s in.

He’d win. I’m surprised he’s not thinking of taking aged Feinstein’s Senate seat or is that going to be Kamala Harris? Whose turn is it?

San Diego machines

San Diego? San Diego went 50-44 for Meg Whitman.

Newsom got 41%.
