The Donald DOES NOT CARE what the hit squad does. He's on his third wife, a beautiful woman 24 years younger than him. He parties. He has fun. He does business deals and he's quite open that he's going for the best deal he can get and screw the other guy. He's never claimed to be a saint.
I think what makes Repubs into RINOs is they succumb to the temptations of DC. Gorgeous lobbyists who want to wine and dine you to listen to their arguments. What happens in DC, stays in DC, AS LONG AS you do not threaten the Dem agenda. The RINOs know that as long as they play nice, the skeletons stay in the closet.
The motto in DC is Laissez les bon temps rouler. Never a recession because they suck taxes out of the provinces like Imperial Rome did. Always parties and freebies and free lobbyist sponsored buffets for Congress critters and their staffers who advise/influence the Congress critters
They could give a sh** about massive illegal immigration or the rest of the country. All they care about is pleasing the high powered corporations, the global corporations and lobbyists that make campaign contributions.

When I said it will be seen for what it is, a catch up attack, I meant the Dem smears which are going to come, bet on it. Trump will not back down from the heat but I really do not think he is actually going to run. He is doing the work that the GOP refuses to do for whatever reason. If they don’t take up the cause soon, they will become irrelevent.
