In making his case for a public vote on taxes Wednesday, Gov. Jerry Brown made an interesting reference to a line in the state constitution: "All political power is inherent in the people." It is in Article II, Section I, a part of the constitution related to laws on the initiative, referendum and recall process.

"It's a question of who's sovereign in this country and in this state," Brown said Wednesday. "It's we the people. . . .

No, in Kalipornia it is the judges who decide if the will of the people should be allowed.

He’s a Democrat. He supports democracy— i.e., mob rule. (Except when he doesn’t, as in the case of Prop. 8, as was already mentioned by an alert Freeper.)

A representative republic based on the Rule of Law is like garlic to a vampire to him. See, democracy can be manipulated. Voters can be demagogued and stampeded and herded. Union thugs can ensure massive left-wing turnout while folks who work for a living find better things to do than go to the polls (to their discredit). That’s why Brown wants tax hikes put to “the people” in a special election. He knows full well that it won’t be a representative slice of the citizenry voting on the issues, it’ll be mobs of his adoring union pukes marching in lockstep to the polls while Joe Non-Union Sixpack watches Smackdown.

Gov. Brown is responding to the article posted Wednesday online titled
“Is Gov. Brown Saying Urban Riots OK?” posted at CalWatchdog.com. The article pointed out that Brown and his Party of Government are end-running around the will of people who voted for “no taxes” in Nov. 2010. Link below:
