Such a deal! How would you like to be able to fill up at $2.80 a gallon? Gasoline prices like that are available but theres one catch...theyre in Mexico. But 1200 WOAIs Michael Board says plenty of south Texans are ducking to avoid the bullets from the gang wars, to gas up at prices which are as much as a dollar lower than prices in the United States.

And most likely without the Ethanol E-10% crap!
I paid $2.83/gal the other day.
My supermarket takes 10 cents off per gallon for every $100 you spend within a month.
They had some specials (that I could use) that added 60 cents more = 80 cents off (and I drove to the station on fumes to fill ‘er up)
PEMEX only has 2 grades, leaded and unleaded I think and think they sell it by the liter.
Gas is half of the price we pay in Bangkok, and they pump your gas.
And Thailand has no significant petroleum production.
It is hard to understand.
I mean THAILAND?
At the rate we’re going(3.90)it might be worth the drive.
Mexico can afford to keep their gas taxes cheap. They don’t have to support their criminals or college students. American taxpayers do that.
Since the powers that be at Walmart have lost their collective minds and raised the price of groceries through the roof while lowering quality, I've been doing more shopping at the grocery store, which has a similar program.
Some months we get 60¢-80¢ off per gallon, which is nice.
I was standing in line the other day, waiting to check out, and noticed that they offer the same deal on the purchase of gift cards - a 100.00 gift card yields 10¢ off per gallon. What is to keep a person from buying the 100.00 gift card, spending it on groceries, then taking 20¢ of at the gas pump? Repeat as warranted to get double off at the pump.
(and I drove to the station on fumes to fill er up)
I'm not supposed to let it get below half a tank, but with the price of gas, that isn't always possible. And from the looks of things, its only going to get worse.
From what I remember about reading some AAA stuff years ago, Mexican gas is a couple notches lower octane than ours. Our regular is typically 87, I think theirs is 82-84.
Besides, after you get back across the border, a reeeeeeally skinny guy with a snorkel will climb out your filler pipe and ask to mow your lawn.

It’s been a long time since I took a car south of San Ysidro, and even longer since I put Mexican gas in the tank. “Buck Knox” is not the nickname you want for your engine.
Heard it’s 15 cents in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Venezuela—where they drill now and countenance no enviro whackjobs.
