There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth among our liberal friends. One of their oldest and most respected heros is heading for the dustbin of history. Alas, who can a commie look up to these days?
One a more important note, what does this news mean for all those great 1950s American land yachts that perambulate through the streets of Havana?
LOL
The rumor is that american collectors are chomping at the bit for those machines, presumably with wads of cash in hand, and likely with plans to show up at the owners’ doorsteps with shiny new cars in part-trade for them. No doubt there are barge and container companies all over Miami with standing reservations for space as soon as the wall comes down. It’ll be the automotive equivalent of the Mariel boatlift, only no one (except the greenies) will complain about those new immigrants.
Restoration for the vehicles and wealth for the owners. Those cars are the closest thing to hard currency that Cuba has.
Alas, who can a commie look up to these days?
