Green Day: The day set aside to save the planet has become a second Halloween where we fear imaginary planetary ghouls and goblins. Greenies get the treats, but the trick has been on us.
It is appropriate that Earth Day comes a week after Tax Day, for our slavish dedication to saving the planet rather than saving jobs imposes a hidden tax on all of us in the form of reduced economic growth and rising inflation.
This Earth Day, we have more to fear from rising gas and food prices than from rising sea levels.
We have long argued that wealthier societies are healthier societies and that reducing emission levels to those desired by such entities as the U.N.'s International Panel on Climate Change and treaties like Kyoto was a recipe for global poverty.
Consider that a 2008 MIT study showed that even the carbon footprint of a homeless person in the United States is more than four times the U.N. recommendation.
Last week, after a record 92 tornadoes struck North Carolina over the weekend, a Time magazine blog seriously asked the question, "Did climate change play a role in this violent outbreak of tornadoes?"
It is such constant fearmongering that drives climate change hysteria. Consider that the worst tornado outbreak in U.S. history occurred in 1974 the year Nixon resigned.

Had to get an early start this evening, supposed to rain tomorrow. Little extra 2-stroke oil in the lawn-boy mixture got a nice blue exhaust output for most of my chore. Maybe I’ll start it up in the shed tomorrow and just let it run for a while, the humidity should keep the smoke lingering.
You can celebrate Earth Day if you like, but I’m celebrating Easter this week, in memory of my Lord Jesus Christ who died for us, descended into hell to pay the price for our sins, and on the third day rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven, where He is preparing a place for those who believe in and love Him.
Earth Daze? Now I know why the greemie background noise has increased lately. They’ll go away in a week or so.
A bumper sticker I saw years ago:
EARTH FIRST——WE’ll MINE THE OTHER PLANETS LATER
Love it! would like to get that for some of my coal miner friends.
I’d like to stick it on a Prius and be able to see the reactions before the driver found out what he had on his bumper.
I love picking on prikus drivers. Get next to them at a traffic light (hopefully with their window down) and bog my diesel truck, filling their cab with thick black carbon exhaust. Worth every penny of fuel it costs!
It’s also my late wife’s birthday and was long before it became erfday.
LOL I love it. My brother does the same thing. You guys are bad ass.
Yep - “Earth Day” was created on Vladimir Lenin’s 100th birthday.
“earthers” are like watermelons - green on the outside and commie red inside.
Dont forget to honor the real founder of earth day and stuff your dead significant other in a trunk. The founder and grand marshal for the first Earth day was Ira Einhorn (AKA The Unicorn Killer). Credit was later given to Senator Gaylord Nelson who doesnt have an arrest record for murder.
I went to the newly re-opened California Academy of Science in San Francisco last week. Their claim to fame is how eco-friendly it is.
I noted 4 things:
1. It was hotter than heck in there and is was a mild day outside.
2. The “living roof” looked like a splotchy lawn.
3. From the description, the “Living Roof” requires a ton of manual TLC and was, seemingly, so delicate that only experts could touch it.
4. The “Climate Change” display had a huge wall with the saying “The Climate is like an angry beast and we are poking at it with stick” - I kid you not.
Gag!
