Despite Reports of Brutality Toward Civilians, Syria to Join U.N.'s Human Rights Council

The brutal crackdown by Syrian President Bashar Assad may finally be getting the attention of world leaders -- but apparently not enough to stop Syria from becoming the newest member of the U.N. Human Rights Council.
And despite calling for an independent investigation into the crackdown, which has left hundreds dead, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon apparently wont do much about blocking Syrias path to the human rights group.
"That's not really for the secretary general to suggest to a member state," said Martin Nesirky, a spokesman for the secretary-general, when asked if the U.N. chief would ask Syria to drop out of the running for the post. When asked if Ban had brought up the point during his telephone conversation April 9 with Assad, Nesirsky told Fox News, "that's not really something the secretary general would raise specifically, because it's for other member states to decide on the membership of the Human Rights Council."

Perfect. Absolute Liberal Perfection. This is a Home Run and Hole in One and a Hat Trick for Liberalism.
Just another day in Obamaland.
Now pay your taxes, Syria needs the money. :)
Is the entire world unable to recognize irony when it rears its ugly head? Why are we paying for this rolling farce?
Meetings of the new U. N. Human Rights Council will be held in the Adolf Hitler Memorial Synagogue.
Despite? Pfft. At this point is a requirement.
The UN Human Right’s council is as big a joke as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
The left appoints Energy Secretaries that oppose energy production, Education Secretaries that prevent learning in schools and Treasury Secretaries that don't pay their taxes...so why not?
The UN is a joke and we are the clown for joining it.

Spoilsport. I was going to suggest a Nobel Peace Prize for President Bashar Assad.
The only way this could be more of a farce is if they blamed the Syrian violence on “Zionist” instigators. I’m sure its only a matter of time.....
EXACTLY! DEFUND all the Collectivist's collectives. The U.S.A. becomes financially solvent and we become very low-taxed prosperous/productive citizens in a country which acts as a beacon for individual liberty. UNaccountable bureaucrats aligned with totalitarian ideologues. F'UN.
Life, liberty and the pursuit and destruction of totalitarians.
So, Mr. President, why are we giving the UN money when they put Syria on the UN Human Rights council...along with China and Saudi Arabia?
This is all just a misunderstanding over an incorrect word. It’s actually called the U.N. Human Rights Cancel - not Council.
And speaking of misunderstandings, all that gunfire heard in the you tube videos is actually celebratory gunfire celebrating the lifting of martial law after 50 some years! The emergency decree has been lifted! Unfortunately many of the state thugs and soldier butchers just can’t let a live round go to waste so there’s a twofer thing goin’ on.
I’d buy that for a dollar!
