Sarah Palin Boasts Choosing Anti-Abortion Fundraiser Over White House Correspondents' Dinner

BETHESDA, Md. — Sarah Palin boasted to a group of anti-abortion advocates Saturday that she had a chance to attend the White House Correspondents' Dinner — but chose to spend her time with them instead. "The pro-life cause or White House Correspondents' Dinner? I choose life," Palin told a crowd of about 200 at a fundraiser for the anti-abortion advertising group Heroic Media.

Palin said journalism's nerd prom didn't have the same appeal for her as presidential hopefuls who attended, like Donald Trump, Newt Gingrich and Jon Huntsman. "You really see evidence of that influence out there of — you know — the celebrity, how the news is, and the political arena, and how it all kind of meshes together. That's what the White House Correspondents' Dinner is," she said.

So instead Palin spoke for more than 45 minutes at a "Jews for Sarah" gathering at a hotel here, a rare public appearance outside the confines of her contributor slot on Fox News. She never mentioned Israel during her remarks, but she stumped hard against Planned Parenthood and abortion rights advocates, encouraging her listeners to continue fighting for "positive pro-life messages" in the media.

Do they really think everyone outside the East Coast/West Coast nexis is a boob who lives in a single-wide? She was just at a rally in Wisconsin and a high-level VIP confab in India! Geez!!

Well, yes. That's why it is fly-over country.

How were her comments “boasting?” Is it that the writer looks at the WHCD as THE hot ticket in town and to decline it is like turning down a State Dinner, and how could ANYBODY do that?

Boasts? Politico just can’t help themselves, can they? I don’t consider it boasting, I consider it reiterating your devotion to a cause that is near and dear.

Politico is hopelessly liberal, and I hope everyone realizes that.

There might be a writer, or two, who is not liberal, but I don’t know who they are.

Note how the very liberal Politico uses anti-abortion, rather than pro-LIFE!

You can feel the snark from this writer towards Sarah—Politico and Barf Alert are one in the same!

What she did IS certainly worthy of boasting, but that is not how Sarah Palin rolls.

Boasting is more the domain of talentless, unaccomplished Commies who propagandize for the Democrat shill site Politico.

Anti-Abortion? Does that make the writer pro-abortion? They can’t get past their agendas.

Pray for America

I’m thinking the writer wanted to be at the WHCD and got the Palin dinner duty instead, so was ticked off. He wanted to play with the “Big Boys” in his trade, do a little networking.

I recall her getting grief in ‘09 for bypassing that pro-life dinner, or something similar when she was in DC. There’s really no winning. But she absolutely did the right thing.

Actually, I think the Jews For Sarah thing was held seperately, and this reporter got his facts wrong, again.

The prolife speech was for Heroic Media.

Best,

Chris

I wonder how many people see the power in those words, and the promise? I do not believe in coincidences, she chose those words as a signal to all those who have the ears to hear.

It just goes to demonstrate the character of Governor Palin, in contrast to the three stooges, e.g. Huntsmann, Gingrich and Trump.

I hate those stupid make the president out to be a clown functions where the president stands up and tells jokes. I truly hope that Sarah will discontinue this disgraceful practice and continue to avoid these wastful egocentric functions once she takes office.

It would be a nice fresh start.

Well said. Anyone who attended the WHCD is not a candidate to be taken seriously.

I'll take Jews for Sarah, Alex...

I agree; it diminishes the presidency.

Although, I don't know how much further it could fall, considering the current occupant of the White House.

Better class of people. Of course, Jesus hung out with a better class of people than journalists when he dined with prostitutes and tax collectors, so it’s not that hard.

There’s nothing negative about being “anti-abortion”. There’s no reason not to embrace that characterization.
