Fox Affiliate Reports 'President Obama Is Dead' Instead of Osama (Video)

The network also flashes "Obama Bin Laden" across its news ticker.
A Fox News affiliate declared that President Barack Obama was dead and then flashed along their news scroll that "Obama Bin Laden" had died.
While reporting the breaking news Sunday that Bin Laden had been killed in a mansion outside Islamabad, the Fox affiliate said, "President Obama is in fact dead. I'm sorry, Osama Bin Laden."

I remember when I first heard that Obama was running for Pres I thought it must be some kind of bad joke as who would ever vote for a man with the name Obama for Pres with a name so close to Osama after 9/11?

Fox double slips here and names have consequences. Fox News chooses the more 'foolproof' spelling - if only by a letter. The determinedly spell - and pronounce Osama as Usama). Or they try. . .'Usama' and I think only because it does not 'exactly' mirror Obama's name. We know - and see above - the pitfalls of this name.
Noticed the other night that Fox News banners, were 'steadfast' in their spelling/pronouncing of Usama. . .and laughed too, as speakers slipped into the 'O' - and then 'out of it'.
Am waiting to see a slip whereby we hear 'U'bama. . .not that it matters; save to the man, himself, perhaps. .
