The commander of the U.S. military unit responsible for killing elusive al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden — Vice Adm. William H. McRaven — is a San Antonio native and graduate of the University of Texas in Austin.
McRaven, 55, earned a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1977, although a campus dean said a computer listing didn't indicate whether the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps member had an interest in the print side of news coverage, broadcast or public relations.
A fellow ROTC member recalled McRaven as eager for military service.
"He was extremely focused on preparing for special forces details," said Curtis Raetz, of McKinney, who majored in engineering at UT, served in the Marine Corps and now works in private business.

Everybody and their grandmother is lining up to get their career credentials stamped.
Because Obummer hates Texas and has made it quite clear in his dealings towards one of the greatest states in the union.
Obummer has proven time and time again he is a playground president, is divisive and acts in a foolish, inmature and compulsory manner towards any that oppose his regime.
Recently, Obummer denied federal assistance to Texas to help fight the wildfires.
Obummer knows we are a red state and he is digging himself into a further hole with Texan voters come November ‘12.
One upside to this is that hopefully Obummer’s tactics will continue to blow up in his face from here on in. He took all the credit on his address to the nation regarding the execution of bin laden and made little mention of the brave navy seals, whom executed the job superbly... we know at least one, was a Texan and this makes us proud and we also know it is a pebble in Obama’s shoe.

It used to be the traitors in our midst would carry out their acts of betrayal in the shadows. But now they are so unafraid of any kind of repercussions, they carry on openly, proudly even, in the full light of day.

Writers like this probably would have given away the D-Day invasion plans ahead of time had they been given the opportunity.
But, I guess the better question is, who at the Pentagon or within the Obama administration has leaked this information?
McRaven’s name has been in a number of articles since the operation. His name is not unknown...almost immediately I heard and read his name.
Obama does hate Texas! Most Texans don’t have a lot of love for Obama. Moveon.org would love to have Texas be the hit for another attack. Houston COMMIE loves to swing to the left. Hard to belive but there are a number of lefties living in this state. I hope it remains RED forever but the population is changing fast!
