Republican Gov. Bill Haslam not attending President Obama's visit to Fort Campbell

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam is not among those attending President Barack Obama's visit with troops at Fort Campbell to celebrate the successful military operation against Osama Bin Laden.

Here's why our governor isn't attending, FTA:

"Haslam spokesman David Smith said the Republican governor had a previously scheduled commitment Friday to attend a luncheon at the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival in Humboldt."

Unfortunatly, I, too, will be unable to attend because my older dog is having a hangnail removed and I need to attend the procedure to hold his paw. Also, my younger dog has just pooped on the deck and I need to clean it up.

I was in the 101st back in 1974-1977 at Campbell. I would have gone on sick call this morning with a severe intestinal virus I can guarantee you that. I would not stand a formation where I had to salute that pig. I retired when Klintoon came on board. Best thing I could have ever done. I especially am glad that I do not have to live with the open homos like they do now.

Main post is in Tennessee, next to Clarksville. But the military reservation straddles the state line, and most of the military reservation is in Kentucky. Or something like that.

Fortunately there are no mooses near Fort Campbell.

I wonder if the White House failed to invite the governor of Tennessee as a set-up, hoping to make him look bad for skipping the event, or if they didn't know that much of Fort Campbell is in Tennessee. Did they invite the (Democrat) Governor of Kentucky? He would have a longer way to travel to attend the event.

I believe most of the base is physically in Tennessee, but the mailing address (and main gate) is in Kentucky.

It is in Kentucky. And I’m sure our Barack Hussein Ass Kissin Governor Steve Beshear will be there chap stick ready in every pocket. Luckily he is up for re-election in 2012. I cant wait to vote against him.
