Total information war

Total information war

Perhaps one of the most important articles yet published on military infowar, propaganda, media influence and PSYOPs has appeared online.

Called ‘Military Social Influence in the Global Information Environment: A Civilian Primer’ – the piece is written by psychologist Sarah King who outlines the theory and practice of US information warfare as it stands today.

Although the piece gives a fascinating and sometimes jaw dropping account of US information operations (replete with examples) it serves as an essential general introduction to how military thinking has moved on from assuming wars are fought with troops on the ground to conceptualising conflict as inseparable from its social impact.

A more prominent view among information warriors is that changes in information, technology, and social influence capabilities have actually transformed the terms of war. War between standing armies of nation-states is seen as increasingly unlikely, both because the United States is an unmatched military superpower and because damage that would result from use of modern physical weapon systems is deemed intolerable.

Our military’s enemies, experts predict, are most likely to be small, rogue groups who attempt to prevail by winning popular support and undermining U.S. political will for war. The argument here is that in most modern war, physical battles, if they exist, will be for the purpose of defining psychological battlespace.

What’s striking is the effort to dominate all aspects of the ‘information sphere’ – from public opinion, to news coverage, to acceptance on the ground, to shaping the general cultural concept of the country’s military.

The many examples given of how this has been attempted during the recent and ongoing conflict are completely fascinating.

If you only ever read one article on ‘information ops’ make it this one. It’s online and open-access with expert commentary due to appear during the year.

Link to excellent InfoWar article (thanks Stephan!).

Ok, Highlander.

Just so you know, I’ve been bothered by these thoughts all day.

In the past 48 hours there has been talk on the internet of a falling-out between Ayman Muhammad Rabaie al-Zawahiri and Usama bin Laden. The Times of India has run an article on the subject, saying the Saudi’s claim he double-crossed Al Qaeda’s leader.

http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-05-05/pakistan/29511917_1_qaida-zawahiri-egyptian-islamic-jihad

Al-zawahiri was heavily involved with the Muslim Brotherhood in the past and probably still is intimately a part of their operations.

During the past two years there have been numerous meetings between members of the Muslim Brotherhood and Obama in the White House. These meetings have been confidential, just Obama and the Brotherhood.

Egypt is the lynch pin in all this. Mubarakh was in the way of The Brotherhood; they couldn’t get anywhere in their goal of destroying Israel. The Brotherhood wanted him removed.

Obama as President is the key. He was involved in the Egypt uprising just like a community organizer would be involved, and removed UBL for Al-zawahiri.

God help us.

We can probably expect something really horrendous around the world in the way of terrorism but what is going to explode in the Middle East — I can’t find words for what I’m thinking!

Entire classes of PFCs are trained in Internet monitoring for the past decade. It’s a brave new world.

Mubarak and Sadat were prodigal sons of an awakening movement by mid level military officers who saw a way for true independence from European colonial interests.

Today, mid level military officers are constantly proselytized by the now Old Guard elites on one side, and the MB on the other.

As seen in Turkey, the Islamists can win, but it takes a long time, and it seems that Egypt is not yet at that stage. Though far along the process.

Obama is only important in his ability to sign the checks that the Congress writes for Egypt’s military elite. In the longer term, he is a mere curiosity for most Egyptian elites... Egyptian media is even more controlled through agitprop than here. And the MB has control of every journalism school and has censorship control of every major media outlet based in Egypt since the last independent newspaper was shuddered in a sham legal entangle in (2003 or 2005?)

Egypt isn’t going to have a democracy, or a republic, it will remain a junta dictatorship, and unlike Turkey, the military isn’t going to give up control without brutal reprisals. Lots and lots of MB were disappeared during and after the recent unrest. Just because it isn’t reported in major Anglophone media doesn’t mean the MB has gained any control over the levers of power in Egypt.

Mandela became president of S.Africa, yet to this day, 90% of S.Africa’s wealth is controlled by white interests. Same will happen in Egypt if the MB is co-opted by the military and financial elite.

I am relieved by your missive.

But I still fear treason from the White House.

I think whomever is in charge of monitoring my contributions to the Internet is pretty high up. It seems whenever I put something out there, I get some type of media response or copycat comment. Though this probably happens to many of us lurkers.

An unholy alliance between the DNC and the media has been doing that for a long, long time.

I can’t find words for what I’m thinking! But I still fear treason from the White House.

This article is about mind control. It's about controlling YOURs and MY mind, it's about doing what they want to do while we suck our thumbs and wonder about the future.

Why would anyone fear TREASON from the White House? IT's been going on big time for years, some might argue decades. Obama is doing everything he can to set up Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Al Qaeda in Libya.

Obama is a radical Muslim hiding behind his Marxist views that will destroy America as we know it. Treason? Geez, what do you need to see to confirm it for you? Obama is using the US Military in Libya to put radical Muslims in power in three different countries and the purpose is for Iran, Egypt and Libya to focus on destroying Israel, then Europe and then the Great Satan.

Nothing could be more obvious.

Talking points and bloggers

U.S. Army Central Command deploys a number of official bloggers (Collings & Rohozinski, 2008). In addition, Silverstein (2007) reported that the Pentagon has an SC project, called “Communications Outreach,” that provides retired military officers with talking points that can be used to deliver information directly to politically conservative civilian bloggers and talk radio hosts.

They are already here (and not just retired military officers) trying to influence public thinking. They win because Americans can no longer think, they wonder about the obvious. Americans can't think anything is true until MSM's Katy Couric or some other idiot tells you what the truth is.

Amd MSM is told what to tell you, and they gladly do. Most of them just parrot what their sources tell them, they no longer have investigative reporters.

War is deception.

Obama is not at war with Islam. He was raised Muslim.

Who does he tell to ‘sit in the back’? It ain’t the Muslim world...it’s anyone who dare think for themselves or resist his propaganda, so vehemently put out every day by the slobbering Obama media.
