I don’t blame the full time lifeguards. I say that if they want to change the benefits, start with the guy who will be hired tomorrow. Sorry but people have choices on where to work in life and this is where they ended up. There is so much jealousy when it comes to pensions around here. Every FREEPER had a choice on where they wanted to work. Sorry you missed out but that is what life is about.

All labor contracts negotiations should be put on hold until a full audit can be completed by an independent entity. There’s no telling how many hidden gems like this have been created over the past 30 years or so.

The government officials that agreed to such contracts should be fired. I think the only solution is to have public employee salaries on the ballot since we can’t trust those in power to excercise good judgment.

If a gas station or store raises prices far above market prices during an emergency, they can be charged with Price gouging. Such salaries for life guards should be considered an abuse of the public trust.
