Donald Trump returned to the airwaves this morning with his rhetoric about President Obamas job performance remarkably toned down. Trump gave Obama high marks for his handling of Osama bin Laden and said about Obama, hes riding high, hes doing well and I thought he did a good job on 60 Minutes. Trump instead turned his focus to Pakistan and to the online company Groupon.
Trump suggested he knew two months ago that Bin Laden was in Pakistan, and declared Pakistan should no longer receive any aid unless they get rid of their nuclear weapons, since much like China, these are not friends of ours. Asked whether Obama will likely cruise to re-election now, Trump proved his own appeal as an atypical politician by bluntly offering a realistic assessment, it certainly helped him, theres no question about it . . . but ultimately its going to be about the economy.
The conversation shifted to a campaign by former White House advisor Van Jones to get black celebrities to denounce Trumps racism. Trump adamantly declared I am the least racist person there is and reminded the Fox & Friends hosts that Randal Pinkett (an African American) won a season of The Apprentice. And for any advertisers like Groupon that back out from supporting his show because of pressure from Jones or others, Trump says its no big deal because NBCs biggest show will do just fine without them.

I think rather than deny their own racism (which always sounds a little defensive and plays into the hands of the person calling them racist) the best tack would be to just say, “Why is this person so quick to call me racist? Why does this pop into their mind whenever they don’t like what someone says? Can’t they debate the issues?” and then move onto the issues. Don’t engage them or try to prove you are not racist, it’s a stupid game and you can’t win.
Let Trump be the one to finally say it “ Obama is biracial with a white momma and no slave blood “.
Good point.
Glad to see that Trump is still out there, loud and proud.
Great response.
I might get a little snarkier
“Why is it that these mental midgets, when they have no valid argument to oppose what someone says, immediately call them a racist?”
“I guess it just proves the old joke about the definition of a racist: someone winning an argument with a liberal.”
Donlad has had many blacks on his how. I sse zero racism. I also see no difference in how he treats the men and women. Talk about fair and balanced!!
Obama is, or was, “The Great (half-) White Hope”
Could our political discourse support an observation
like that, which is of my own coinage, and which I could
expound on at will?
Excellent point! It seems like whites are always cowering, apologizing, begging people not to think they’re racist. And what good does that do? Does it stop the accusations? Of course not! Trump is white, and that alone is reason for race-baiters to call him racist, regardless of what he says or does. It’s time that “R” word lost its sting.
Didn’t Fat Albert or Jesse the Babydaddy already say that?
I probably WOULD say something more like what you said, which is why I’d be a bad politician. ;)

After choosing white males the first two seasons, I think pressure was put on Trump to select non-WASP winners so he chose a white woman then a black male the next two seasons.
When Pinkett won, it was so obvious from the first episode that the fix was in for him.
None of that proves Trump is/is not racist but it made me believe who won or lost on the show was driven by identity politics after the first two seasons. He was noticeably when the openly gay candidates started showing up on the show despite his ham-handed "nothing wrong with that" comments.
I'm sure blacks will look at his treatment of the Michelle-like Omarosa in two seasons of the show to draw their conclusions.
The mistake you make is trying to reason with these people who yell “racist” at everyone with whom they disagree. Yelling “racism” or “racist” is an emotionally manipulative technique for demonizing non-PC folks, but it’s wearing thin and people are fast catching onto the game. It’s a lot like crying “wolf” - Eventually people are going to say, “Hey I’m a racist - so what?” and set race relations back to what they were 50 years ago.
