Obama administration invites Libyan opposition to White House for meetings Friday

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is stepping up its engagement with forces fighting Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, inviting opposition leaders to meet with U.S. officials at the White House Friday, while stopping short of recognizing their council as Libya’s legitimate government.

The White House said Mahmoud Jibril, a representative of the Libyan Transitional National Council, would meet with senior administration officials, including National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, as well as members of Congress. But there were no plans for President Barack Obama to meet with Jibril and his delegation.

What's the point in inviting them to the White House when Obama won't bother to meet with them? It's not like he has anything else to do today.

Why are libyan opposition “leaders” in Washington DC? Don’t they have a war going on?

And since they have declared war on Libya, isn’t their presence here justification for libya to bomb our city? After all, NATO gets to bomb tripoli because the Libyan leaders are there....

Mahmoud Jebril, the leader of the rebel group that styles itself the Transitional National Council, has been in Washington this week asking for money, increased U.S. military involvement and, most importantly, U.S. recognition of the group.

So are we to trust The Transitional National Council are all good muslims like Obama?
