JERUSALEM, May 17 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama will call on Israel to withdraw to the 1967 borders and agree to additional concessions that will enable a resumption of the peace process, Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth revealed on Tuesday.
The newspaper claimed to have obtained a draft of Obama's planned speech at the State Department on Thursday in which he will outline his administration's Middle East policy, in light of the anti-government protests that have swept the region over the past year.
White House press secretary Jay Carney said Sunday that Obama would raise the need for progress in the peace process. However, he did not reveal whether the president planned to present a diplomatic initiative to revive the process, after negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians broke down last September.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Obama will call on Israel to withdraw to the 1967 cease-fire lines with territorial adjustments that will be agreed on in the negotiations with the Palestinian National Authority. The president will label the West Bank settlements as "illegal" and emphasize that Israel must halt their construction.

Give back nothing.
That hasn’t worked before, and it won’t work now.
They will take it as a sign of weakness.
If Obama’s former pastor had been doing his job, Obama would realize that screwing with Israel is not a prudent course of action. Just say’n
The Kenyan muslim needs to keep his mouth shut. Middle east is on fire already.
Setting the stage for a September declaration of an Islamic Palestinian stE within Israeli borders and a confrontation between the IDF and UN peacekeepers - some of which will undoubtedly be US troops.
So what say you Christian soldiers, will you bear arms at the order of Barack Obama against the Jews in support of Islamic radicals?
I have said for a long time the US is just one US president from turning our backs against Israel. obamma could very well be that president!
I doubt that Bibi is going to go for this and that there will be US troops involved should it happen.
Bibi isn’t going to have a say. The PA will push for a declaration of state hood in September regardless of what Israel does and they will get it in the general assembly. Then they are one absent US veto away from having the security council enforce it...and with Samatha Powers advising Obama there is a high likelihood that us forces will be part of that “peacekeeping” mission.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Bibi definitely has a say about what happens there no matter what the UN wants. Even Urkel isn’t stupid enough to get us involved there unless it is along the lines of our involvement in Libya in which case the Israelis will wipe out whatever invaders are dumb enough to attempt invasion.
The UN could well make an adverse decision but without us leading it will just stand around and pee its pants.
Obama will call on Israel to withdraw to the 1967 cease-fire lines
If there ever were any so called ‘cease-fire lines’, the Arabs definitely did not get the memo. sheesh, now they are just making stuff up.
Urkel is a twelver, and like all twelvers he's seeking the final holocaust. There's not much of a chance any of you have to stop this train.
Obama and his minions want the Golan Heights handed over to the Muslims. This land elevation is what is keeping Israel safe in this region. The so called Palestinian state already exists in Jordan, which was previously known as Palestine. However, Jordan does not want those trouble makers. Obama is obviously on the side of radical Muslims. God will not allow anything to happen to Israel. Obama needs to be careful in this regard.
I'm talkin' the real deal.
I don’t think he has a clue and is gutless to boot so don’t expect anything to happen.
Do you believe this report? I tend to and I’m beyond outraged.
Uh, huh.
Shall I put you down for a 4 A.M. wake up call then?
