Four years ago at the studios of WSB Radio in Atlanta, I interviewed talk-radio host Herman Cain, who had only recently recovered from cancer. He smiled as he vowed, "Death's going to have to catch me, and it's going to have to run fast."

I’m for Cain. I’m going to send him a donation this weekend. I hope to hear him make a statement today (if he hasn’t already) about The One’s abandonment-of-Israel speech yesterday.
Cain could well be the Dems worst nightmare. Historically blacks vote for the Dem WH candidate by 85-90% margins...Obama got 96%. Pundits have already assumed that he won’t get the same vote...because the “newness” factor is gone. Blacks are far more socially conservative than the Dems they vote for, and the agendas they push. If Cain could cut into Obama’s margins among blacks by 10-15%..well..that alone would turn it around. Remember, NC, Iowa, and Florida were all decided by a few points.
CAINin'12: READY, WILLING, & ABLE

Herman Cain’s statement on Obama’s Speech. (posted to his facebook yesterday):
While stability & peace are at the forefront of America’s interests in the Middle East, we must be mindful that Israel remains our steadfast ally. Policy &resolutions that would upset the delicate balance in the region should be weighed & measured against the overall safety of everyone in the region & not appease those who seek to deceive & manipulate the process.
During an interview with Erik Erickson last night, Mr. Cain expounded more on his position, and added “If you mess with Israel, you mess with the US”.
With Cain there are lots of possibilities!
I completely disagree with everyone who thinks Cain is unelectable. In fact, I really think he is the best candidate running.
Id rather have a businessman who needs political advisors than a politician who needs business advisors, and I think at this point a lot of voters would tend to agree. Weve had nothing but career politicians as President for the past two decades, and look at the mess were in.
He has the best communication skills going, except maybe for Palin, without the irritating voice she has when she gets excited during a speech. (I always try to imagine what it would be like to be with a woman who sounds like that when shes angry at me, and Sarahs voice often makes me wince.)
He makes great, articulate arguments from principle.
He is a plain speaker, which resonates heavily with voters these days.
He is absolutely race-card proof, which takes the biggest arrow out of the Democrats quiver.
He was a mathematician for the Navy Dept., which, along with his extraordinary business background, takes away another key Democrat talking point, which is that conservative candidates are dumb.
He will eat Obamas lunch in any debate.
He is likeable, relaxed and yet completely professional.
I think once he builds a bit more momentum and name recognition among Republicans, he will pretty much be unstoppable in the primaries.
True, he has no foreign policy experience, but that complaint is made against every presidential candidate running against an incumbent. Besides, unlike Obama, Cains ultimate foreign policy goals, however his policies may evolve, are 100% focused on preserving Americas best interests and national sovereignty.
Actually, for these reasons, I think he is by far the most electable of Republican candidates.

Amen, preach it and pass the plate. You can bet the DNC knows every bit of this too. They are happy for the MSM to ignore Cain and hope he’ll fade away. They know that Cain would rip Obama in a debate and would expose to black America that Cain is the only legitimate black guy in the race.
Double whammy, and they know it.
In addition to that, the MSM will have pure hell trying to tear him down, without sounding biased or be labeled racist. A Cain candidacy spells double jeopardy for the Democrats and the MSM.
It would not be a first.
The music that emerged from Black America completely transformed Western--and thereafter world--music in a 20th-century revolution that still has musicologists scrambling to get it into perspective.
The Civil Rights Revolution, that erupted in full force during the 1960s, was a movement that emerged spontaneously from grass-roots Black America and transformed the world. The white people of the U.S. South, who had long represented the primary resistance to the ascendance of Black America, were the first to capitulate because (1) knowing Black America well, they recognized early on that a revolutionary movement had emerged from grass-roots Black America and resistance to it was futile and (2) they (generally reluctantly) recognized the truth behind this revolution and, sickened by centuries of untruth and other evils, they welcomed the emergence of truth and decency. The hunger for truth is a basic human need.
Black America just might come through and save the world. A beautiful new day could be dawning.
I think you’re right, Mace, and for the reasons you espressed so well (post #9).
The only folks that would try to keep playing the race card would be the really fringe folks.
Sharpton had one on his show that called Cain a “black faced racist” for criticizing 0bama and not acting more like Colon Bowell.
If Cain succeeds in gaining traction, look for the Dems to exploit his medical history..”yes, we’re happy that his cancer is in remission, but can we afford to elect someone who could become ill...”..it will be an insidious whispering campaign..
A welcome change from our first FLOTUS, just sayin’.
That would be the wife of Herman Cain, the former Godfathers Pizza executive who is exploring a Republican run for the White House in 2012.
Dont expect the traditional amount of exposure you normally get from a campaign wife, Cain said about his wife, Gloria. Shes not going to do that.
Cain, a charismatic orator known for riling up crowds at Tea Party events, said his wife of almost 43 years doesnt desire to be the center of attention on stage or on TV.
Herman Cain has already confirmed (at Tea Party events) that the MSM and Democrats are already labeling him “racist.” At the moment, I don’t recall his exact words in response to the accusation, but I do remember that it brought loud laughter and applause from the Tea Party attendees.
" I have been called a sell-out, an Uncle Tom and shameless because I disagree with this Presidents policies. Those who are calling me those names have probably never been to a Tea Party event, and I doubt officials of the NAACP have attended an event either. Those that would like to join the name calling parade should save themselves some time. In my grandfathers vernacular, I does not care! "
Cain would also neutralize two other false claims of the left:
(1) that conservatives are dumb
(2) that Obama is the the smartest guy in the room
Herman Cain actually is the smartest guy in the room.
A century ago ago, at the dawn of the industiral age, industrialist like Henry Ford were viewed with awe by the public.
Today, at the dawn of the information age, it’s the IT guys—the nerds like Steve Jobs that are viewed with awe by the public. This is the group Herman Cain fits into.
