The city of Sisters, 10 miles W of Bend, has such an ordinance. No chain stores, all western themed, etc. Folks even burnt down an almost completed McDonalds restaurant a couple of years ago..
Good news about the mother ship. The missus can’t possibly expect me to assist in a redocoration if we are only staying a short while.

There was a time when I had the same problem.....
"Honest officer, my right foot is just out of control!"
But the good news is that my left foot is coordinated with the right foot at ALL times!
I'm just glad it was way cheaper back then!
lol

I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors, and race teams for my lack of judgment, he said. And what Kyle should have said......
"Hot damn that was fun!"

I got that beat and never got caught. 95 over the limit in a 55 mph zone. But no intersections or homes.

Never got to check the claimed top speed of my car. The roads were bumpy and only two lane. 150 was a handfull, but nowhere near redline in top gear. Had to watch ahead for tractors and cows.

Yes, I know about top-end drag limits. From 140 to 150 I had good acceleration. I saw two numbers for top speed for my car, 162mph or 172 mph. Don't know if there were differences for catalytic converters and non-US models. My car was a 1986 so not the current high performance league. I do know I could shift from 3rd to 4th at 110 mph and well below red line and it had a 5-speed gear box. There are so many cars with huge HP now. Mine was only 330 HP, but the Corvette ZR 06, ZR 01, Audi R8 V-8 or V-10 and Cadillac CTS-V that are over 500 HP! MC want! Also Dodge Viper!
