You will come to understand the guy was moving out and she was still living there.

At some point his residency ended ~ hers continued.

Under Indiana's Castle Doctrine Law she could have shot him dead on the spot. He's lucky to be alive and yet he's kvetching about jury instructions. What a wuss.

I do not live alone, and the wife is no wall flower.

Firing positions? This is rural Nebraska! My 11-acre home sits atop a treeless bluff at 3000’ elevation, with a clear line-of-sight for 15 miles in all directions.

There is one gravel road, and I hold a commanding position. NNOTHING comes through here without my knowledge. You can see the rising dust cloud from an approaching vehile two miles away.

I know every stone and every blade of prarie grass on this piece of land. When something is out of place, I see it. I know what the wildlife sound like when things are right, and what they sound like when things are not.

Key landmarks are measured, so I know my range of fire down to 25-yard increments... and I can well-enough guess the yards between.

The only threat I perceive is the town watertower—an excellent shooting platform, 1 mile distant, and having its catwalk just about level with my line of sight. But then I too have high-powered sniper rifles with scopes on them.

Condition “white,” or “black” (dead) The point is I am aware of my surroundings, lesser so when sleeping—but then I keep a rifle and shotgun within arms reach, and a 45 pistol closer still. The operational phrase is “situational awareness” ... I live by those two words, as every American worth his salt should, because we have a government completely seperated from the Constitution, and therefore no longer deserving of our loyalty.

Oh, one more thing ... In these parts the Sheriff is the “top dog” of LE. Not the state patrol, not the FBI, not the CIA, not Homeland Security, and damn sure as hell not the jack-booted SOB’s of the BATFE, or any other damn facsist Washington agengy.

Our Sheriff frowns on anything that looks like it dose not belong here—particularly if the entity is some hot-shot badge-sporting a-hole, thinking to bust down the door of a constituent, without a proper search warrant. That is just asking to get your effing head blown off.

This ain’t LA or NYC—or any other urban sardine can. We’re not dim-witted slaves, and the Fourth Amendment still means something in these parts. Our people will not stand idle while some uniformed thug, who thinks the Constitution is just a piece of paper with which he may wipe his facsist ass, violates a neighbor’s home.

The castle rule is the rule out here, and the cops had damn well best respect it... unless they enjoy being outnumbered 10:1 in a no-holds barred gun fight. Don’t look for trouble, and you won’t find it.
