Sarah Palin’s efforts to confuse the media about her bus tour seems to have worked; she’s turning them against each other.
“I want them [the mainstream media] have to do a little bit of work on a tour like this,” Palin told CNN. This morning, she fooled some of them, leaving her bus behind as a decoy. Reporters have resorted to chasing her bus. All of this confusion seems to have gotten to the press who, understandably, are trying to get the story and do their jobs.
Now, some of the media frustration is playing out on Twitter.
Some journalists believe Palin is behaving like a celebrity, and that covering her may be beneath them.

This was a bit too much for CNN’s Peter Hamby — who is hot on Palin’s trail. Hamby responded to both Franke-Ruta and Smith, Tweeting: “Believe it or not we’re asking serious questions. (And, btw, politico has a reporter here too).

I doubt that. They're following her trying to catch her in an unguarded moment, maybe saying something incongruent, maybe with her hair messy, whatever.
They consider it their "job" to ruin her.
I remember during the 2010 campaign she couldn't believe McCain was shutting down in Michigan and conceding the upper midwest that she thought was in-play while he chased Pennsylvania. I believe she was right.

Why? Why are they following her? Why are they paying her the least attention at all? Pretty much every single member of the Beltway Punditocracy has counted her out, thrown dirt on her grave, and used it for a bathroom. They've written her off so many times, the paper has a hole in it.
Why do they care? She doesn't matter, right? She doesn't have a chance, right? She's irrelevant, right?
I just don't get it.

The media can treat a person anyway they want because they are "the media".
But this same media demands to be treated a particular way by a private citizen.
They see nothing wrong with treating her with disdain, or contempt, or disrespect, but by God she better treat them with the respect they are due. Or they might just quit covering her!
