1 dead, 1 wounded in Grand Crossing shooting

One person has died and another wounded after a shooting tonight on the South Side in the city's Grand Crossing neighborhood.

The shooting happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. on the 6600 block of South Stony Island Avenue, said Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.

Preliminary reports said two male victims, 51 and 23, were wounded, one critically, and both were taken to Stroger Hospital, Gaines said. One victim's condition was stabilized at the hospital, the officer said.

I’ve never heard of Grand Crossing or Stony Avenue. Where are ... oh wait, I’m being told its Chicago, as usual.
