Why Weiner Will Not Go Down (There's No Shaming Weiner)
Boston Herald ^ | June 9, 2011 | Michael Graham

Posted on 06/09/2011 5:01:03 AM PDT by suspects

Is it possible to remain a sitting member of Congress after a photo of your (ahem) “standing member” has been released on the Internet? We’re about to find out.

Because Anthony Weiner isn’t going anywhere. Despite all the texts and pics and personal humiliations, Rep. Weiner will not resign. Period.

And if you don’t believe me, ask Bill Clinton — which, by the way, is what Weiner’s doing right now.

“Rep. Anthony Weiner explained himself and apologized for his conduct to Bill Clinton,” Politico.com reported yesterday.

What did he apologize to Clinton for?

Perhaps Weiner feels bad about undermining Clinton’s efforts to convince Americans the Democrats were the family values party.

Regardless, Weiner’s “off-the-record” phone call to Clinton made it into the press, which is exactly what he wants. The more Weiner’s name appears in news stories with Bill and Hillary, the harder it is for Democrats to stand up and demand his resignation. Which — if you check the record — they haven’t.

And unless a particularly icky photo appears, or some evidence of actual contact between Weiner and his Twitter-ettes, they won’t.

As of this writing, not a single national Democratic office holder has called for Weiner to resign. When New York Republican Rep. Christopher Lee posted a photo of his bare chest on Craigslist a few months ago, the GOP leadership had him disappear faster than a witness at a mob trial.

But Democrats don’t resign.

Rep. Charlie Rangel was caught red-handed cheating on his taxes, hiding income and improperly using rent-controlled housing, but he’s still a proud member of Congress.

Tim Geithner was caught cheating on taxes. His job today? Treasury secretary.

And then there’s Big Daddy himself, Bill Clinton. Cheater, liar, perjurer, obstructor of justice — much of it...

Brilliant elites, no matter what they do, should not have to resign.

They are such god-like and smart, intelligent, bright
geniuses, that they are indispensible to the
knuckle-dragging morons in the general population who need guidance from the saviours of mankind in the Democrat Party.

I think Weiner’s a real moron but this statement is flat out WRONG.

“Perhaps Weiner feels bad about undermining Clinton’s efforts to convince Americans the Democrats were the family values party.”

Or perhaps he was apologizing for jeopardizing Clinton’s reputation as the biggest horn dog the Democrats have ever produced.

Add in suborning perjury. Wiener took a page out the Klinton PR/CYA manual. Lied, emotionally cheated in his marriage, contemplated using the FBI to seek out a fictitious attackers, then stated he would use a fictitious private investigator to seek out the "hacker", looking straight in the camera and lying some more, developed his version of the lip-biting grimace, and when getting caught in the lies, wants to get back to the people's business. Why do people think that a liar only lies in private matters, but don't think they will lie for other matters like political gain, political negotiation, of even legislation? But such is the way of life for most Libs and other errant politicians.

From what I’ve seen of New York voters, he’ll not only hang on, but he’ll get re-elected in a landslide.

Why did Weiner apologize to Bill Clinton? Perhaps Weiner feels bad about undermining Clinton’s efforts to convince Americans the Democrats were the "family values" party?

(Sob) That's so true. Remember when 4-term (gag) Congressman Rahm Emanuel was beatified as the man who masterminded Dems takeover of Congress and WH. Cong Rahm formed "Our Common Values PAC" and chaired the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee 2006-07.

Rahm even got Dems winning in solid Republican districts running as "true believers." Rahm was duping voters again and again----remember when he had Maoist Candidate Ohaha saying things like, "I want to be another Reagan."

But the GOOD NEWS is ALL those Rahmified Dems are gone in the Midterm blitz of Nov 2. And Obama is treading on quicksand as we type.

You can bet Ohaha is getting nervous----his own reelection chances are already practically nil. Having Weiner as the lead story undermines him and Democrat candidates.

Buzz is liberals/progressives are whispering that they want Weiner OUT b/c his sexcapades are blocking their #1 campaign issue---Ryan wanting to "kill" seniors.

=========================================

I emphatically believe Weiner's staying put as a strategy----knowing the Dems will buy him out to make him disappear.

Remember how Rahm got the gate AND the mayoralty of Chicago? You can bet Weiner won't go until he gets enough money to makeup for the earmarks he's been pilfering.

Watch Weiner score several high paying sinecures---maybe a cable talk show, a makework no-show job at a NY govt agency, several lobbying jobs, a tax-exempt "foundation to help" victims of sex crimes (funded with Soros money).

I hope he stays ... he is the “face” of the Democrat party ... the party of Wiener’s ... He is becoming the “image” of what people think about Dem politicians. Hang in there, Tony, we need you.

Republicans need to be more opportunistic here, and tie every Democrat to him, who doesn’t come out and flatly demand Weiner’s resignation.
