The profane and hysterical "The Book of Mormon" took home nine Tony Awards on Sunday including the prize for best musical, a considerable achievement for a pair of first-time Broadway playwrights known more for their raunchy cartoons featuring potty-mouthed kids.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of the Emmy Award-winning "South Park," found a kindred soul in Robert Lopez, who co-wrote the Tony-winning "Avenue Q," and all three found themselves with plenty of awards when they collaborated to gently mock Mormons and send-up Broadway itself.
Collecting the best musical prize, a subdued Parker, who tied Josh Logan of "South Pacific" with four Tonys in one evening — said he'd be remiss if he didn't thank his late book co-writer — Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon religion.
"You did it, Joseph! You got the Tony!" Parker said looking skyward and holding up his award.

They really want to make fun of all Judeo-Christian religions but they’ll get the most support if they targeted the Mormons.
Parker and Stone have made fun of everyone. Including Muslims.

Yes but unlike Mormons and other Christians, Muslims have this tendency to blow themselves up when their religion is mocked.

Mormonism really IS a joke BTW.
I’m not going to go there because it is none of my business to go into those kinds of theological discussions. But from a policy aspect, I do think that they are for the same conservative Judeo-Christian values that are common to most freepers: pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-private ownership and responsibilities and pro-Israel.
They need to get back to writing South Park episodes. This season has sucked worse than anything has sucked before.
Your post shows that you already went there, you took a stand and posted on Mormonism being a Christian denomination when it is widely known that Mormonism is an anti-Christian cult, and what the Catholic church, and other Christian churches define as a different religion from Christianity.
The right thing to do is to mock them and speak against cults like Scientology and Mormonism, the Krishnas, the Children of God, those cults are hunting for Christian souls and to hide the truth about them is to serve them.

A good clue to knowing that they will be on a thread is if Mormon is in the title, you can use that information if you don’t like threads about Mormonism.
They consider themselves to be Christian. Other Christians don’t. I’ll let the 2 groups duke out their theological differences for themselves. It’s not really my call to determine that Mormons are Christians or not since I am not an expert in Christianity. But they do have common values with other Judeo-Christian religions and that’s what I’m focusing on.
Whatever they are, I’m glad they were there in California defending traditional marriage and supporting Prop 8. Without their support it’s possible gay marriages would be happening now.
Yet you posted in a manner serving Mormonism, you are taking a side, and it is interesting that you don’t find Christianity worth defending and state that you will not defend it, but you are even posting pictures while trying to defend Mormonism.
Interesting that the lefties star entertainment this year trashes mormons at the same time as the MSM is presenting Mint Romney as a frontrunner for repubs. They will slaughter him on his religion as soon as optimum time arrives, so they can preserve the pan-leninist in power.
