I’m not in the slightest. If I truly believed that the majority of voters in the country were utterly mindless idiots that would believe anything they hear on TV/the papers, this is exactly what I’d say.
We have, after all, already established that when a Republican publicly calls him a liar, the media goes instantly into attack dog mode and ‘shames’ the accuser into silence, while his fellow ‘republicans’ pile on with the media. As such, he is free to lie the biggest lies with absolutely no fear of any blowback.
The gen public almost or never sees an elected official calling him on his flat out lies (partly because so few ever have and partly when it RARELY happens, the MSM spins it like a top) and so they figure that he’s telling the truth...’because the repubs would never let him get away with that.’
As Palin and Alan West continue gaining political ground/clout/popularity, I think we will see more callouts on this BS. They may be keeping the powder ‘relatively’ dry for the full blown election season so as to not ‘burn out’, and yes, they are among the few who ever DO call him on his BS, but it’s never too early to put the hammer down IMO.
I don’t consider myself any more intelligent than the average person (although my ‘Wiley E. Coyote - Genius” card came in the mail today from the ACME Co.), but I am smart enough to understand what so few Republican politicians put into action.
People cannot abide a liar and will react very negatively when they discover they have been lied to. Every Freeper worth his keyboard knows this, so why do Republicans not use it to, oh, I dunno...help save the friggin country from Leftist hell perhaps?
