In actual polls of PEOPLE, Romney gets 0 to 5%.

Distinction without a difference.

I just don’t get how people think Romney is so impressive. I see him and “snake oil salesman” comes to mind. I just can’t take him seriously. And I just won’t vote for someone from MA. That state is evil.

From the clips I saw (I refuse to watch CNN), there was no debate. Everyone had a stump speech memorized and delivered it. Then the political class tries to show their expertise and relevance to the process by spending hours on TV analyzing nothing.
The winner was Sara Palin, who isn’t bothering to play this stupid, out-moded game.

ALL of the media (and Dems) want Romney.
Quite simply, it takes ObamaCare off the table, which is HUGE. Therefore, no matter what he says in a debate he scores 0% among conservatives.

The polls were right about one thing Bachmann slammed last night. She is now the one to beat. Unfortunately for me and other Freepers Cain was weak last night - too general, not enough direct response. He didn’t seem as up on the issues as any of the other candidates sorry to say.

Cain and TPaw hurt themselves, and since they were the most direct challengers—of those in the debate—to Bachmann and Romney, Bachmann and Romney won.

This is the first round of the presidential playoffs and Palin got a bye. But she’ll have to beat Bachmann in the conservative quarterfinals and Romney in the GOP semifinals in order to face Obama in the finals.

Romney’s got to flick away TPaw in the RINO quarterfinals before likewise moving on.

I’d say the chances are 80% that it comes down to Romney versus Palin, but last night Bachmann made Palin’s road a little tougher and TPaw made Romney’s a little easier. They now both probably have an equal chance of moving on.

(But Palin can’t dawdle. She needs to be in by the next debate n part to help her become seasoned in the format by the time the stakes are higher.)

Just heard an idea from Bill Bennett on his morning show. Wouldn't Michele Bachmann make a great VP under Romney?

Nah...can't be.

I watched the debate and was not at all impressed by Romney. Michelle Bachmann, however, was quite impressive. Pawlenty could have been a bit tougher and more specific. Herman Cain was a bit discombobulated at times.

They were all focused on the horrible policies of Obama....and that is good. Hopefully, people who support Obama will begin to reconsider and see the reality of what is happening.

Now why is it we care about what admitted “political insiders” say again?

Did they declare him the winner before or after the debate?

Romney is the media’s McCain pick. Trying to pull an O8’. Won’t work this time. Romney is not the people’s choice. Bachmann and Cain or the leads from last night debate.

I think that Cain, Bachman and Santorum all did well last night. My wife was very impressed with both Bachman and Santorum. I think the two biggest winners were Bachman and Santorum.

Cain's my guy and I think he did ok but he needs a little more polish. His answers were 'right' they just weren't delivered with as much polish as a practised politician...one of the biggest reasons I love the guiy. He's NOT a practised and polished politician. But I'm not worries...he'll get smoother in a hurry. He's a quick study.

survey of Republican and Democratic political operatives, campaign consultants, and party strategists

Wow. This group would compete HARD with Hollywood for the title of Most Irrelevant Americans.

Romney is apparently the Establishment pick and and who ever the Establishment chooses WILL be the GOP nominee despite what the rube voters want.

Well, after everyone gets their little quips in, there are a couple of serious things to emerge from this:

1) Bachmann did well. She did better among Democrats ("they will tell us who they fear").

2) Better news: Pawlenty did poorly, among everyone.

3) Cain did badly. Sad to hear.

Remember that these assessments were made from the position of campaign strategists "inside baseball" kind of stuff, so they are looking at who "landed blows," etc. So it's probably accurate to say that Mitt didn't do badly. If no one took apart his Obamacare support, he wouldn't do badly.

Not a political insider— but when Mitt R. said Shariah law will never be in our Courts. I have to disagree. And find Herman Cain more honest -and telling the truth,as I believe it true. Mr.Newt nuked Mitt by telling the truth about Islam as well. I could Never vote for a Muslim— nor for a homosexual to be entrusted with such power over our laws. Both groups are comfortable living a lie and telling lies -and both would use such power to advance their twisted way of life and both would harm our Constitution.
