Former half-term Gov. Sarah Palin has reportedly packed in her bus tour...halfway through.
Real Clear Politics is reporting that Palin and her family have returned to Alaska from their "One Nation" bus tour, despite tentatively scheduled stops in Iowa and South Carolina.
From Scott Conroy at RCP:
Though Palin and her staff never announced a timeline for the remaining legs of her trip, aides had drafted preliminary itineraries that would have taken her through the Midwest and Southeast at some point this month. But those travel blueprints are now in limbo, RCP has learned, as Palin and her family have reverted to the friendly confines of summertime Alaska, where the skies are currently alight for over 19 hours a day and the Bristol Bay salmon fishing season is nearing its peak.
Palin's intent to visit Iowa and South Carolina, as well as one stop in New Hampshire, caused some speculation that she was starting to get serious about a run for president in 2012.
The bus tour was launched over Memorial Day weekend, and was particularly scrutinized after one event in Boston where Palin badly flubbed the story behind Paul Revere's ride.
ha
Both warnings were given, and both are significant to the events of those days. Revere warned the (British) colonists that the (British) Redcoats were coming to take their weapons and military supplies. Once Revere was captured and could no longer warn the colonists, he warned (I don't feel like quibbling over that word - it's appropriate whether his warning was a threat, a bluff, or an effort to avoid bloodshed that would lead to open war with what he still considered his own government and his own people) the Redcoats who captured him that they were facing an alerted and prepared population. Sarah Palin's words were certainly awkwardly delivered, but she came much closer to capturing the key events than the media who criticized her for her words. It was only a gaffe in the sense that everything she says (or that Tina Fey says) will be treated as a gaffe by the far left fringe; a better description would be mere inarticulate wording.
The problem is, the public will never know this. As it is, it becomes one more example of her supposed idiocy.
The solution is Governor Palin can talk about our history - planned and more articulately than in that brief comment about Revere. As part of her campaign, I hope to hear her quote Paul Revere's letter, explain its context, and link that event to the current battle over our God-given right to keep and bear arms. Palin has what it takes to turn this media tempest to her advantage. I just pray that she will run so that she has a chance to prove me right (or wrong).
Thanks for the coherent reply. I’ve noticed that if anyone even dares draw a question to any of Palin’s statements, the tar and feathers come out pretty quickly.
I just go by her statement “He warned the BRITISH that they werent going to be taking our arms by ringing those bells...” etc. etc. It clearly implies that he was warning the British Redcoats by ringing bells, which just isn’t true. She flubbed it IMHO. No big deal. But trying to attach some professorial brilliance to it is a losing game.
They have a commercial fishing business here in Alaska. They are most likely in Dillingham, picking salmon.
reportedly packed in her bus tour? lol
She’s taking a break, dimwad.
She’s running circles around you numbskulls.
You so-called reporters are so pathetic.
She IS the race; there is nothing she needs to do at this point other than what she is doing:
Making ugly media heads explode daily.
Voices from the Left:
“WHATSAMATTER, Sarah, are you AFRAID to finish your TOUR???
Epic FAIL!!!”
Thanks, I wish people as nice and informative as you had responded initially. Any word on when she’ll resume her bus tour?
I dunno
Did you get that from one of the media Palin haters?
Unpolished is one of the most positive attributes she has. The left has a lot of polish, much of it can be scratched and a putrid odor seeps out.
Given the circumstances and who Palin is and what she was doing, she wasn't clumsy one bit.
Gotta throw something negative in there though, after all she got it so right even some here were throwing invectives at her for what she did.
I noticed several known trolls appear quite rapidly on this one. I am not aware of you as a known troll.
That’s what I’m talkin about!!!
You’re such a liar! It is a big deal to you else you wouldn’t keep trying to slam the messenger.
Huh??? Where’s the lie?? Geez, try the decaf.
Let's do a bit of transmogrification on that item ...
by ringing those bells, He warned the BRITISH that they werent going to be taking our arms ...
Hmm, that is a truth, because when those bells were ringing and he was riding, Paul was warning the citizens the British were coming, and when he was captured it was the riding and ringing to which he could point as a warning to the British that they were not going to be able to take from an alerted populace. The pecksniffians can try to ignore the reality that Sarah spoke the truth though not in the best articulation, but they are just exposing their own derangement in so doing.
