Why is continually referred to as a “Marine reservist”? It’s almost never mentioned that he’s a muslim from ethiopia. That seems to be the motivation thing for him,,,,
if he is got to be thought of as a marine, why is he not “marine traitor”?

As expected, the NY Times makes no mention of Islam or Muslim. Evidently the whole thing is a complete mystery, and they simply cannot imagine why he would do this.

The media typically omits such information that is factual, but the media perceives as counter to their propaganda role, offensive to some, or politically incorrect.
But they will always editorialize and add that the individual is an angry racist if he is a white Christian, US citizen, heterosexual if they can fit it in the story line.
