I watched the first few minutes, and remain skeptical as to the authenticity. One needs to consider two things (at least):
1) the quality of the recording
2) Where the hell has this been for 35 years?
Yeah, I remember the Tasaday hoax back in the 80’s.
The “business insider” blog has never exactly been concerned with accuracy.
Exclamation points, yes. But accuracy, no.
Take everything from this blog with a grain of salt.
I don’t doubt the authenticity of this at all. My uncle was a missionary in Papua New Guinea in 1975 - actually from the early 70’s until the late 80’s. He has told me about similar people groups.
What made me skeptical about the authenticity was the fact that the first few minutes were filmed before they crossed the river. Weren’t they curious about the white people with the cameras?
Did anyone pay attention to the chief eating with a fork? Notice the way he held it?
He must have read Emily Post!
