Dying Woman Undergoes Additional TSA Security Screening, Says Family
Fox News ^ | June 26, 2011

An elderly woman in the late-stages of leukemia was forced to undergo 45 minutes of additional screenings last Saturday when she tried to board a flight out of Northwest Florida Regional Airport, her daughter told FoxNews.com

Lena Reppert, 95, was to say her final goodbyes to her daughter before she made what would most likely be her last flight to her native Michigan. After eight years of battling leukemia, doctors say she doesn’t have much time to live.

“She said she wanted to be closer to her grave,” Jean Weber, her daughter, told FoxNews.com. “I knew it would probably be the last time I ever see her.

After 45 minutes, the mother and daughter were given two options: either don't fly, or lose the Depend. The women chose the latter.

“I ran with her to the bathroom and stripped her down,” Weber recalled. “I got back to the line and just started bawling.”

Weber said the emotional toll was too much. From perhaps seeing her mother for what could be the last time, to having to see her mother go through all the security measures, “I just cried and said, ‘Please can you let her through, she’s just so sick,” she said.

You stupid Freepers should know that this story is more full of it than granny's diaper because I have promised that my TSA always works with passengers to resolve any security alarms in a respectful and sensitive manner ... and we all know the government would never, ever lie.

The women is susceptible to infection so the TSA
made CERTAIN she would be laden with every bacterium
and virus they had picked up that day.

Why?

Probably because she was elderly, frail, American and white.

Between now and (I hope) 20 Jan 2013, I will consider anyone working for FedGov to be a (censored) idiot.

If at all possible, never ever ever fly. Go by train or drive yourself. I wonder if the American public decided not to fly. How long would the airlines last and how long would TSA be in business?

I think the main problem with all this TSA behavior is, you are being presumed guilty. It leaves most of us with an ugly feeling of outrage.

Were I a terrorist, I might find a nearly dead old lady a good place to hide a bomb. I don’t know. I don’t know enough about bombs. But in a baby’s diaper or an old lady’s handbag or a retarded man’s backpack, maybe I’d think that’s a good place to hide something.

But the negative is, that baby or old lady or retarded man is absolutely personally innocent and is being treated like a criminal being transferred to prison.

I think there should be “search” and “no search” airlines. Let capitalism work. If you’d rather be “safer” and get your full body scan, go on a “search” airline. If you’d rather avoid the intrusive/possibly dangerous searches, go on a “no-search” airline. Let the market decide. Leaves options for all of us.

The nation definitely needs a no fly day to help protest egregious infringement on human dignity such as this elderly lady suffered.

You are wrong in thinking they are just stupid. They ENJOY their sadism. They know their will never be punished, in this life, and they are firm in their conviction that there is no other.

In Iraq and Israel, the terrorists are using children and the handicapped to carry bombs. However, they haven't done this in the US. They don't have to, because Homeland Security doesn't think young men from Yemen with one-way tickets and no luggage screaming "Allah Akbar!" are a security threat. Why take the trouble to hide a bomb when you can just walk on the plane and attack?

A non-sequitor. If the other government agencies were doing their jobs to the fullest, without political or sociological influence, there would be almost no use for the TSA.

Can anyone imagine Obama’s mother-in-law or aunt Zetuni being treated like this?

You guys all know all you have to do to get through un-molested is dress super muslim.

Girls wear hijabs and fellas grow out the beard and wear the long robes and the little white hat.

No problems ever from TSA... although as soon as you get to the hotel change that stuff ASAP.

Message to Repub Leadership (and one they seem not 'to grasp'.

It is NOT, just the ECONOMY!

Why, why. . .are our 'eggs' in one basket or just our wallets; when a criminal, America-destroying Enterprise is being run from our White House and when war has been declared upon every decent American citizen?

Stop this and ALL the viral madness that poses as 'Change' (and from Obma's TSA 'safe travelilng')!

Say it; shout it; write it: STOP IT!

And may they 'listen up'. We are past critical. . .

These guys are leftwing union hacks who have jobs for life in return for voting Democrat. If the airlines shut down, they'll just put them to work on the trains, or on highway traffic stops.
