(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama told CBS News today that there may not be enough money in the U.S. Treasury to cover Social Security checks after Aug. 3 if Congress does not agree to lift the legal limit on the federal debt and allow his administration to borrow more money. "I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it," Obama told CBS News anchor Scott Pelley in an interview. However, according to the Daily Treasury Statements published by the U.S. Treasury Department, the ongoing flow of federal tax revenue since the Treasury declared that it had hit the debt limit on May 16 has been more than sufficient to cover the combined costs of federal spending on interest payments, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the Veterans Affairs department and federal workers wages and insurance benefits (including wages and insurance benefits for military personnel).

Another Obama lie exposed.

If listed, are they able to shut down the Internet yet via use of bandwidth?

And just about the tactic I expected to be employed, too.

When it comes to sleaze and dis/mis information our current administration could have given lessons to the world’s worst. >PS

Of course he’s lying. If the times are so tough, let the WH staffers go without their paychecks first, that ought to cover at least next month’s Social Security checks. Let 0bama go without pay, Giethner,Pelousi, every one of them.

If there isn’t enough money to cover the SS checks on Aug 3rd then how can he say with a straight face that SS is funded until 2040 or some other f’n date? How come a question like that never comes up? /rhetorical question

Is the money there or not? /yet another rhetorical question

We don’t have a power problem, we have a SPENDING PROBLEM.

What Congress needs to do is cut up the credit cards. It is THEIR job, not Obamas. McConnell was wrong - he should have said “There can be no solution until federal spending is addressed”. If that means “There can be no solution until Democrats no longer control either house of Congress - So Be It.

Zero is a pathetic, disdusting pig. He reminds me of casey Anthony. Tells lies with ease and when puhed adds detail that is jaw dropping.

I wonder how many seniors that voted for Zero are happy now.

Maybe the President & First Lady can skip just one of their regular “vacations” on which they spend a good part of the loot in Fort Knox just on their fancy lodging and gourmet dining, not to mention fuel for Air Force One and security detail for them and their entourages. Just one. Comments anyone?
