Moscow - Russia's national legislature the State Duma on Tuesday took up a bill proposing so-called chemical castration as a possible punishment for child molesters, the Interfax news agency reported.
The procedure would be performed by chemical treatments on the convict, according to a press statement from the office of President Dmitry Medvedev, who introduced the bill to the Duma.
A medical and psychological panel would have to determine the convict was likely to molest minors in the future for such a method to be deemed legally necessary, according to the statement.
A convict could however request the treatment voluntarily in order to reduce his sentence or obtain parole, Interfax reported.
Other measures under the proposed law would allow the forced administration of drugs and compulsory treatment of child molesters at a psychiatric hospital, were a judge to rule it necessary.
The bill, which generally proposed generally stricter criminal code, also suggested mandatory sentences of life imprisonment for chronic child molesters.

We have it here. I worked on developing it (from 1979-1981.) The drug, medroxyprogesterone acetate, must be administered every week to be effective.
As appropriate salve of NaOH works the first time - permanently.
But, yeah, that'd work.

I recently had a conversation with a person who was a victim as a child.
He stated very strongly that castration doesn’t stop the perverts. They just find other means.
The chemical deal just lets some believe that they “did something”.
Best in the world! It’s a shame more medical schools don’t aspire to their standards and values.

What a silly notion. Start with this chemical and add another. Pump the perp full of estrogen and his aggression weakens as his boobs grow. Top with a bit of Haldol and you have a compliant person.

This is a start. If they never start with a chemical solution, they can’t tweak it and get it right.
