Californians are nuts. They deserve what they vote for.

It’s a California district that Obama won by 30 points. California is hopeless as far as electing conservatives. Hell they have a tough time getting the odd RINO a victory here or there.

This is a district that Obummer won by 31% in 2008, and Jane Harmon won it by 25% last fall. If the Dems have lost >20% in this district, Obama and the rest are toast next fall.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!

Kalifornians deserve all the crap that rains down on them. If individuals don’t like it, move. True believers should and will stay til the bitter end (probably 2015 or so).

Depends.

With only 2% of the vote in, that is not many votes separating them. Sometimes it depends which districts came in so far. He could close the gap. It is not over yet. However, dealing with these nasty Democrats, you gotta win by 10 or 20% UNDISPUTEDLY otherwise they will contest it and win in in the courts, OR last minute ballot-box stuff.

Those posted votes have to be mail-in ballots. If the tallies were closer, I’d have some hope, but it does not look good for Huey. However, on the positive side, if Huey loses by a single digit margin, that is quite an accomplishment for him personally and an indication that Obama is not loved as much as thinks he is!!! Hey, Huey gave all he had. It is the California and national Republican party that are the slackers, just as they are in New York. And....with the cave-in to Obama by Pubbie Senate leader, Mitch McConnell, with John Boehner in tow, I would say the current Republican Party is not long for this world!!!

Bob Dornan (R-Calif.), a flamboyant conservative, represented that district in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. After the Democrats in the legislature gerrymandered him out of it, he moved to Orange County and won a seat there.

I doubt it. This is a very liberal district. If there is ever a chance though, it’s in a special election. Keeping it in single digits wouldn’t be too bad but I’m not all about “moral” victories. But single digits may be a sign of attitude at least.

Folks, there's NO WAY a Republican is going to win this district.

The dim margin hasn't been less the 20% in 25 years.

Easy there! I’ve been in a Calif Bay Area (San Jose) resident since 1967 and HAVE NEVER voted Democrat!

There are conservatives in Calif once you get east of the SF, Marin, and LA areas.

There hasn’t been a serious candidate(R) in the last decade. Huey is the first since Kuykendall(R) won the district in 1998. Susan Brooks(R) came very close in the two elections before that. And Harman was a strong candidate with unlimited funds. Things are changing.

George Soros has made getting his kind of people into Sec’y of State slots a very high priority, as that official is in a key position to influence how closely contested voting situations become resolved.
