Rick Perry : one of the most conservative Republican candidates
UK Telegraph ^ | July 19, 2011 | UK Telegraph

Should Rick Perry conclude that voter discontent has left him an opening to enter the presidential race, the Texas governor would be among the Republican field's most conservative candidates.

Rick Perry rejects the idea of global warming and the theory of evolution, arguing for natural climate variations and intelligent design of the universe.

He branded Social Security and other New Deal safety net programmes "the second big step in the march of socialism," according to a book published last year. The "first step" was a national income tax, which he has said stands alongside the direct election of US senators as a major mistake among the amendments to the US Constitution.

In the just-completed Texas legislative session, Perry's "emergency items" included laws that require a photo ID in order to vote, a sonogram before a woman had an abortion and enforcement of federal immigration laws by local police.

Texas is the only state that has refused to put in place the EPA's new rules regulating carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases.

No way, Reagan did not have Politician hair. His hair was bold and bada$$!

It’s just an observation I’ve formulated over the years. That cookie cutter “play it safe” haircut makes me worry about if one can’t even stand out with his hair, then, well, you know...

As far as idiosyncrasies, I once heard Mark Twain said he wouldn’t trust a man who wore both suspenders and a belt.. he couldn’t trust someone who didn’t even trust his own pants. And, I think he was referring to the carpetbaggers who tended to wear both. Is wearing both a sin? No, but it is just an observation.

It was more of a humor than anything else, no need to get all bent out of shape and start worrying about hair being a sin.... Now, shaving the side of your face... that is a sin according to the old testament, which is where the term Bald Faced Liar comes from I believe.

Political history of a candidate is more important to me than his hair, as is most people. He could have green hair, and a great record, and I’d pull the lever for him (or her).

I just found a pattern of “politician hair” and wishy washiness tend to go hand in hand over the years (not always, but usually).

Reagan had perfect hair, so does Perry. Is now your most important criteria to vote for the candidate with the worst hair or a bald guy?

That is pretty ugly. Do you need to use keywords to make your point? Rather childish imo.

I notice you’re not from Texas.

You’ve got to get over your Texas obsession. Location has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with my opinion of the Bushes, or of Perry.

It’s a great state, leading the nation in all, or nearly all, good things right now.

Still, it has generated more than it’s fair share of RINOs in power.

Speaking of RINOs, I’m also strongly opposed to Jeb Bush, who I believe is from FL.
