I don’t know about that. Isn’t Fort Hood one of the largest military bases in the U.S. Definitely top 10 for sure.
There are bases and some public land but the overall percentage is very low. Try hunting in Texas without a lease or your own land. You are left with few options.
I just checked it and 1.9 percent of Texas is Federal land.
