People move to low tax states from high tax states like California, New Jersey and New York to escape the crushing tax burden and intrusive Nanny-State liberal governments they keep electing and re-electing.
Once they are settled into their new, low tax home state the first thing they do is say how glad they are to be away from the high tax, oppressive Nanny-State government of their old home state.
The second thing many escapees do is to start whining about the things they miss from the old Nanny-State and complaining about the “backward” culture of their new state. (no opera, no symphony, no rapid transit, no free concerts)
The third thing they do is start demanding the same taxpayer paid Nanny-State services, handouts and freebies they were accustomed to “back home”.
Then they vote for high tax liberals and start recreating the oppressive, high tax, liberal culture they left behind.
Out west they call it Californication.
That is exactly what happens, and in that sequence.
They complain about no opera, no symphony, no rapid transit?
These are liberals who have moved to your state because of a job. If the opera and symphony ended tomorrow I wouldn’t notice. I would notice the end of rapid transit because of the traffic jams. I would not miss the smell, cost and union hackarama of the rapid transit.
The free concerts suck. Those of us who pay taxes in this state receive no handouts (wrong color, race, gender, religion)

Absolutely true.
That’s why they call liberalism a disease. Actually it’s a plague. They are a just a bunch of ungrateful idiots they could not grasp the conservative mindset of “leave me alone, government”.
happens in the south too. In addition to home grown black democrats who were born with their hands out and a bone deep sense of entitlement, we have imports from NY, NJ, etc. who turned their previous homes into economic and regulatory hells, and then promptly upon alighting in Ga or FL start infecting the state with those same government loving attitudes. We call them yankees
