This sadistic, barbaric attack must be one of the strangest terror attacks ever. One would never think, from the killer's online comments, that he was a mass murderer in waiting.
The killer was right-wing and anti-jihad, yes, but he was not a neo-Nazi (he was pro-Israel) or a white supremacist (he opposed the BNP because they are racist). He was Christian, but not a fanatic (he was pro-gay).
In fact he was apparently like me - liberal right. He was anti-racist, pro-gay and pro-Israel. So how on earth did someone like that become a terrorist against the West?
Perhaps he radically changed his politics since his last post to document.no in Oct 2010 (see below). Can we see any writings of his between Oct 2010 and July 2011?

It was sort of an attack on left-wingers, but a very strange one. It targeted children who had nothing to do with policy, and was incredibly sadistic, hunting them down and executing them close up. Even targeting the centre-left government is incredibly extreme - they support the Afghan War and the Libya War.

It makes Humphries look as sociopathic or insane as the attacker obviously is. Such acts are done only by mad men, not by one imbued with a certain political bent. No politics can or will explain or excuse the acts comitted by this very sick man.Norway should reinstate the death penalty.

Pro-gay rights people are not Christian (you don’t give special rights to a dysfunctional behavior esp. one considered a sin by the Bible—made so clear in Romans and Leviticus. It is antithetical with God’s teleological design of man and “gay marriage” is an oxymoron to any Christian who can read.
It is evil for it mocks God, denies children their inalienable rights to a biological mother and father, is sexist, disordered, and corrupts children’s understanding of nature and God and destroys logic and reason.

I’ve been thinking for a while the guy is almost too gorgeous to be real. He looks like a beautiful android.
And his picture with the tux and Masonic regalia is like a GQ ad. He’s stunning in it.
Not that I think he’s homosexual -— i have a friend whose son is just as goodlooking in a delicate Hollywood sort of way and he’s very heterosexual.

You're late to the party, actually. His manifesto makes abundantly clear he's not a Nazi. Strong supporter of Israel, critical of Nazis, believes the Holocaust happened, etc.

A quickie Facebook and Twitter account, hitting all of the bullet points for the press, complete with a posed photo with some super automatic weapon. And he is a “Nazi” to boot?
It looks like something straight out of some left-wing produced movie where the main villain is some right-wing stereotype.
Now we are getting all of this info where he is pro gay?
My take on this is that profiling is not as effective as we thought. In addition, gatherings of large numbers of unarmed persons are always at risk.
This event to me proves that we need more armed citizens as the norm not less. Because this guy was extremely methodical, confident, consistent, informed. To protect against this profile we can do nothing but be prepared with deadly force when he arrives.
Our closest ideological cousins are exclusively in english speaking nations.
