(Reuters) - California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law on Monday a bill allowing illegal immigrants to receive privately funded scholarships to attend the state's public colleges and universities.

The bill, dubbed the California Dream Act, passed the state Legislature earlier this month and aims at helping illegal immigrants who have earned a high school diploma after attending at least three years of high school in the state.

"At the end of the day, if we're going to continue as a powerful, equal-opportunity society, we're going to have to invest in our people," Brown, a Democrat, said at the signing ceremony in the library of a Los Angeles community college.

The state law is named after a national bill introduced in Congress last year to give young, undocumented immigrants who have lived in the United States for at least five years a path to citizenship through college or military service.

Can’t we just willingly give CA to Mexico? Think of all the future federal bailout dollars we would save ourselves.

“I guess yet another thing is going on the ballot for the PEOPLE to vote on.”

And for a judge to disqualify any wrongful vote immediately afterward.

Money being fungible, they will direct “private money” scholarships to the illegals then cry for more federal money to backfill the loss to legal citizens.

O’Mally is a lame duck this year, but we need a Republican for Governor and stop all of this BS maryland is going thropugh, including Gay marriage, Tuition for illegals and taxpayer money being sent to Casa De Maryland.

We need to fix our roads and stop building Stadiums in Baltimore and we DON”T need the tolls doubled and tripled on our bridges. Another thing we need to stop making money for education a diety.
Go to some of the schools, they look like Taj Mahals.Executive offices of BOA over loaded and over crowded with people doing nothing.

1. These kids are still illegal.
2. I’m sure that the men have not signed up for selective service.

LoL except their NOT your people, their not even your Federation partners people. Their foreigners that have no allegiance to your state or this federation.

It’s ok in my book thou, clearly Califorina is overflowing with surplus Tax payer dollars to invest in foreign nationals.

Did this wonderful event coincide with El Presidente Obama’s Speech to La Raza (The Race)?

Do you hear that sound? It's the Founding Fathers doing about 2500 RPM in their graves.

simple solution, private scholarships which do not screen for legal status do not have their student loans protected in bankruptcy.

legal or illegal can then get out of those loans.
