Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin asked her uncle Mike Sheeran to deliver a message to Gov. Rick Perry at a Republican Party fundraiser held at Bentwood Country Club on Tuesday: That he should declare his entrance into the 2012 presidential race.
"Sarah wanted me to tell him that, if he were to declare, he should declare here at Bentwood," said Sheeran, who has lived in San Angelo for about 12 years, adding that he would be a big supporter of a Perry-Palin presidential ticket. Palin is also considering a presidential run, but hasn't declared.
"I think together, what a ticket that would be," Sheeran said.
Although Perry dropped no hints at the high-dollar private event, which raised more than $12,000 for the local and state Republican parties, attendees said the undertone of the 15-minute speech Perry gave and the conversations he had with the 81 attendees was obvious.
"I didn't hear anybody say, 'Are you running?' or 'Will you give us a date?' but it was very clear that the room was asking for it," said Russ Duerstine, chairman of the Tom Green County Republican Party, who said his staff told him privately that "they're taking it seriously and they're doing their due diligence."...

Palin/Perry would be my preference. They both seem to like each other.

Maybe Palin intends on making her move in the next week or so, unless Perry gets in the race. That is if the story abour her uncle is true, which I doubt.

What??? Why in the world would Palin ask some old man to deliver such an odd request? And then the dude say he would support both on a ticket? Does not compute.
Who knows. This is the first I’ve heard about Sarah’s Texas uncle. It will be interesting to see if this little local news story gets any further coverage in the media tomorrow. Sarah’s uncle may have just been having fun with the good ole boys at the cash bar.
