SALT LAKE CITY — Despite being heralded by his defense team as a poster child for civil disobedience in the same vein of historical figures like Gandhi or Rosa Parks, a judge on Tuesday rejected any such comparison for Tim DeChristopher and said the rule of law must prevail.

"I am at a loss to see how we are going to govern ourselves if it is (going to be) by personal point of view," Judge Dee Benson said in delivering DeChristopher's sentence of two years in prison.

A lefty enviro monkey-wrencher is actually going to do a little hard time!!

Let’s hope the “Yes Men” take it to heart when they plan their next stunt.

Looks like this childlike socialist activist is going to get a real education the like of which they never eluded to in his University. I think lesson one is going to be is don't forget to take the proper soap to prison.

Enjoy your vacation Timmy. You earned it.

This may be the first time I have ever heard of an Eco-Nut going to prison without their actually killing/injuring some one or causing major property damage.

It’s about time!

Now hold some more oil lease auctions, and start drilling.

Of course. Who ever said that civil disobedience gets a pass?

Poor Timmy had the misfortune of being born a White Male. Had he been from one of the favored minoritie groups, Liberals would have argued that he didn't have the mental capacity to understand his actions, and therefore qualify for probation (or an award!)

It took a lot of digging, but I think I see what the crime was. He punked a Federal land auction (for mineral rights, which greenies oppose) by submitting bogus bids. I’m surprised vetting of the bidders was that loose. They caught this fool, in fact he made no effort not to be caught, but any illegal alien Mexican could do this then vamoose into Mexico. There needs to be some substantial financial skin in these games.

He will be doing a little partying at a minimum security joint in Littleton, CO. But I hear they still only have one shower.
