McCain vs. the Tea Party
New York Times ^

Posted on 07/27/2011 11:53:56 AM PDT by Windy City Conservative

Mr. McCain mocked Tea Party-allied Republicans in the House for believing — wrongly, he said — that President Obama and Democrats will get the blame for a default if Republicans refuse to increase the nation’s debt ceiling. By that flawed logic, “Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced budget amendment and reform entitlements and the Tea Party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth,” he said, quoting a Wall Street Journal editorial. “This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell into G.O.P. nominees,” he jeered, referring to two losing Tea Party candidates for the Senate in 2010.

Is there a point when someone like McCain who is a “war hero” (aka bad pilot in his case as far as I’m concerned) who has done so much damage he no longer deserves respect for his past?

McCain was a horrible fighter pilot. I don’t know how many planes he destroyed. If it wasn’t for his father who was a Vice Admiral at the time, he would have been drummed out of the Navy.

McCain is correct. The media will certainly see to it that Democrats wont get any blame.

Why fight against the Democrats for anything at all then, since supposidely, the Democrats will always win the propagada war?

Right?

I don't buy it.

McCain: You suck. Palin was the only reason you got votes. Go count medals with Kerry in Europe.

3rd Party Time?

Fox News exists because it fills a vacuum. In many ways, it's not primarily conservative. However, it provides a more balanced perspective.

Currently, there is no "Conservative" party. The left already has the Democratic party. If a "TEA Party" would divorce Conservatives from the GOP, the GOP would likely go the way of the Whigs.

The short answer to your question, with the likely death of the GOP, there would still only be two parties. I pray to God that the "TEA Party" rejects the likes of Rove and McStain.

He does not get it. If congress votes on nothing then they automatically have a balanced budget. The senate then has no say.

YES! I agree and I hope everyone here will follow suit. McCain has undermined the Republican party and stood with his “Fearless Leader” Obama too many times without being brought to task for it. Enough is enough! It’s time to let him know what his ping-pong, RINO politics smell and look like to his “base” that he never loses a chance to ridicule and smear.

I’m looking for a telephone number and an e-mail to get messages to him. I will post them. If anyone beats me to it please post.

Time to dust off a pair of vanities:

(Vanity) Annotated Tolkien and the Election Cycle

Too bad John fell short of that.

A Knife in the Dark, or, The Assault of the Nancgûl

Cheers!

Message

On behalf of my political party, I demand that you apologize for your undermining and insulting comments about former nominees and present political stances taken by members thereof.

You are an insult to the constituency of the Republican party and a detriment to the unity, policies and values of it. Your insults are uncalled for and are not in line with the job you were elected to do.

Please do the right thing and submit your letter of apology immediately. The people that put you in office and supported your campaign deserve at least as much.

The message above was sent to John McCain’s Washington office by e-mail. I’m hoping a lot of other Republicans will call or contact Senator McCain and let him know that such comments and smears are wholly unacceptable to his constituents and peers.

Its the power of Satan.

People that think that the Tea Party is going somehow takeover the Republican Party are living in a fantasy land. The GOP Establishment, Billionaire and Millionaire individuals, Wall St. Banksters, multinational Corporations with 100's of Billions in assets, the Corporate Media, and the entire behind the scenes Good ol' Boy network would combine all their vast resources and use every means necessary, legal and illegal, to defeat the Tea Party rabble. The Tea Party folks don't stand a chance.

The Tea Party should just form its own national party and become a true SECOND party.

Just to be clear, is McCain referring to the same Tea Party that gave The House Of Representatives back to The Republican Party and almost gave The Senate back to The Republican Party?

If so, he's basically what Mark Halperin called President Urkel.

Nice message...I guess McCain lost sight of the fact that THE ONLY THING that helped him come close to Obama in 2008 (lose with dignity?) was the inclusion of Sarah Palin on his ticket WHICH DREW ALL THE [future] TEA PARTY supporters his way...

See, it wasn’t only dems who misread the 2008/2010 elections.
